Wouldn't it be awesome to have one of those miracle, storybook like endings where the Sox rattle off fifteen or so in the last twenty games, and Minny just fizzles out. Damn, damn, damn... :headshake
TheBlackSox8
So who is the MVP of this season? Arow or Uribe? Uribe carried this team the whole first half, but Arow has been so solid hitting almost 320. Aaron i think is an obvious choice....he's given the fans something to watch since the sox as a team haven't really impressed people this year. Uribe definitely if he would have hovered around .290 the whole year...but inconsistancy has taken from Uribe and given to Rowand.....Definitely the Sox MVP for 2004. Rownad has been amazing, but the sox are like 8 below...

CubsSuck1
That's a hollow argument when you realize that when Uribe was "hot" -- Maggs and Frank were in the lineup. True. But if we didnt have Uribe in the first half, we might have been out of the race from the beginning. Rownad can't help thta he din't have the power hitters in the lineup, but to me, the MVP is about winning.

WHarris1
You know as much kidding around we do about being 7.5 back what if we would get withing 6 when we have 6 meetings left with the Twins? What if we got lucky in those 6 and were able to take them all...it could happen. Ok enough of my dreaming.
WilliamTell
Haha, I think we'd be lucky taking 4 of 6, with probably only taking 2 of 6, but it's a very nice dream.
Wise Master Buehrle
You know as much kidding around we do about being 7.5 back what if we would get withing 6 when we have 6 meetings left with the Twins? What if we got lucky in those 6 and were able to take them all...it could happen. Ok enough of my dreaming. Not with the pitching problems we currently have. I expect Garcia to be down and out for the rest of the season. That would give us a stellar rotation of Buerhle, Contreras, Garland, Diaz/Stewart/Grilli/Whoever. We're pretty much f***ed this year. Nokona
....we never did put together that long winning streak everyone talked about at the end of the first half. Going from 7 1/2 back to a 1/2 game back in a week would be domination.

What if we got lucky in those 6 and were able to take them all...it could happen. Ok enough of my dreaming. We'd have to be very lucky - and now especially with the injuries of to Garcia and Lee, that makes our team a lot less potent than it already was (or wasn't). But - even if the Twins sent Johan Santana to the mound two out of the six times.... If we have a healthy Garcia, Buehrle, and Contreras going for all six games (we could set our rotation to do that). There is no doubt in my mind, that each of these pitchers is capable of absolutely DOMINATING that Twinkie offense. Especially Contreras - I dunno, I have really began to love watching him pitch. I'm hoping that the Garcia injury is just a small, two-missed-starts blip on the radar, but I won't be surprised if Freddy doesn't pitch a game the rest of the year... WilliamTell
Yeah, as of this time I think Contreras is our best pitcher.
