The Critic
Just saw on the ESPN2 scroll that the Luvvable Losers acquired Ben Grieve for a PTBNL. Hollandsworth must be further away from returning than they hoped. A not-very-exciting pickup, unless Grieve is also married to a world-class soccer player. ChiSox_Sonix
and they respond by Montreal hanging a 4 spot on them in the bottom of the first. :fthecubs

santo=dorf
Can I ask why noone is ripping Hendry for his Pratt-Cruz trade? I thought the scrubs could use some bullpen help. :fthecubs
Wise Master Buehrle
I like the Grieve move. Another former Rookie of the Year, like Hollandsworth, that kinda fell off the radar.

Yoda
Great move. The Cubs have the WS on lock. rolleyeyes.gif What a good move would have been is bullpen help. They do have some pitchers in their BP with some pretty good ERA's but Grieve sure as hell isn't going to replace Farnsworth.

witesoxfan
To the Cubs' defense, there were not very many good relievers available...not as many as most people initially anticipated at the very least. And while it is true that they could have used another reliever, this is where the depth of their rotation comes into play...3 or 4 of Wood-Zambrano-Maddux-Clement-Prior will start in the postseason, and the other 1 or 2 will pitch out of the pen. Basically like making a trade for a reliever without trading for a reliever, if you understand what I mean.

witesoxfan
Cubs will not be in the playoffs this year. I should have clarified. They would have an extra reliever or two IF they make it. I can't say they will, and I can't say they won't. We'll have to wait another month and find out.
YASNY
When I saw this trade scroll across the bottom line, I read it as Ben Sheets! For a split second I was thinking they had just really struck gold.
