DBAHO
Winston - Salem beat Kinston 7-1. Fantastic start for Wes Whisler going 7 innings with 0 ER, 2 BB's and 4K's. Wasserman struck out 2 in relief, while Castro gave up a run. Blakely homered for his 23rd of the year and so did Amador. Josh Fields with 2 more hits to bump up his average to .280. Also Andy Gonzalez is back in Winston - Salem. Box Score

danman31
On a sidenote 20 year old Pedro Lopez was promoted to Birmingham while Andy Gonzalez replaced him in W-S. While Lopez is not having a great season (he won't walk) it is impressive that he is at Bham at 20. Gonzalez will probably start next season at Birmingham despite sucking it up there this year. Rex Hudler
2 days of no Anderson in a row, whats up? three actually...... I wouldn't worry about him... .............. long term.
BlackBetsy
three actually...... I wouldn't worry about him... .............. long term. For the same reason, I wouldn't worry about his tail-off at the end of the season. He must have gotten hit pretty hard with that flu, Rex? I think it's 50/50 that Anderson is a June/July call up next year and shifts Rowand over to RF.

Right now I am thrilled with the job Aaron does there. He gets good jumps and makes great and accurate throws. Unless this kid is playing a great CF, stick Anderson in RF when he comes up. Guest JimH
I think Anderson has a bit of a nagging foot injury too, don't know the details. Hey, I see Wilson Valdez warmed up for his call up with an 0-3 with a strikeout. He'll fit right in!
MnSoxFan
Rumor I hear is that Anderson may have season ending hernia surgery. Hey, was that ex-Sox prospect who was traded for Brooks Fordyce, Jake Meyer from UCLA starting vs Barons last night??

MnSoxFan
Nothing that will affect him long term I hope. Should not, hell I have even had that done, back when I was in the USAF. Get the surgery out of the way and he should be good as new next spring. Might impact him if they had him groomed for Arizona Fall League. Hey, was that ex-Sox prospect who was traded for Brooks Fordyce, Jake Meyer from UCLA starting vs Barons last night?? Damn you are good..... I hadn't even heard that one. I thought he was just still nursing the foot and the lost weight from the virus he had a couple weeks ago. And yes, it was former Sox farmhand Jake Meyer throwing against us last night. He had been in Mexico playing all year.

danman31
A day late, but what the heck. Kanny beat Hickory 8-4. Gio go the start and decided to walk 5 batters in 5 innings. His control issues have me worried, but he is still very, very young. Nanita and Daigle with 3 hits each. Schnurstein, Valido, and Francisco Hernandez with 2 hits each. Hernandez has emerged as the best catching prospect the Sox have, imo, and it's cool to see a sneak preview of what he can do in A ball. Yunior Novoa was also promoted from Bristol, as their season is over. Back to the game, Moat with good relief got the win. Box Score With the Barons win and Huntsville's loss last night the Barons clinched the 2nd half title in their division. It was merely a formality anyway. CWSGuy406
Hernia operations are b****es, but they must be done. I've had two in my life so far, one coming last summer (not the one that we are currently in). It gets to the point where you can barely run, much less lift anything, if you don't get the surgery. Unforutnately, when the pain relievers wear off, it hurts for a good 24-36 hours...
