SoxFan562004 Posted September 2, 2004 Share Posted September 2, 2004 The Marlins are about to sweep the Mets and get within 2 and 1/2 games of the Wildcard lead, with 6 games left against the leading Cubs. This team is really amazing and a lot of fun to watch. It gives me hope that Ozzie was around them last year, and he'll want to mold the Sox in a similar form. I’ll gladly eat my words and start cheering for the Marlins because the Padres don’t seem to have it right now since they’re facing the Cardinals. Entire cubs series is going to be wiped out by Frances... If that does happen than San Francisco has a very good chance of taking sole possession of 1st since they're going to face Arizona over the weekend. There's something magical about that team once they're in post-season play. Their first 4 starters are as good as any in the game. Their bullpen is much stronger then it was last year with Mota and Benitez. They're probably just as good offensively as they were last year. I hope they get in.
