LosMediasBlancas
Rumor has is it he is growing increasingly unhappy with his lack of playing time on the north side. Isn't he a free agent after this year? Doesn't he play short? Does he hit lefties well? Whaddaya think?
Wise Master Buehrle
He's a second basemen, poor defense. No thanks.
Molto
he went to the Cubs knowing he was going to be coming off the bench ... if that is true, he's an idiot for being suprised and upset.
Palehosefan
he went to the Cubs he's an idiot I think you could have left it at that yes yes I know their record and ours. But that doesn't get in the way of my hatred for them.
LosMediasBlancas
He's a second basemen, poor defense. No thanks. But he has played short in the past and is willing to do it again. Poor defense? I think he's about average and would make up for it with this offense. I'd take him over our 3 choices of Valentin, Uribe or Valdez...if the price is right. So what? I'm talking about possibly starting him here at shortstop.
Xero
I wouldn't mind him but honestly, we don't need another 2B-SS guy. Next year most likely 2B is Uribes or Willies unless they pull a big deal for another 2B and the short is probably Valdez or a pick up. If he can come and play short, then do it. Molto
So what? I'm talking about possibly starting him here at shortstop. you said he was upset about his playing time ... he knew he wasn't going to complain. so either he isn't upset and wants to stay on the club, or he is upset and is just a complete dick for getting upset over a situation he knew he was getting himself in to. that aside, Walker is not a player I'd go after, unless it's coming off the bench or something. I thought we were trying to build a good team? Walkers no leadoff hitter nor a #2 hitter.

Although I like Walker, haven't we said this enough about our hitters over the past 4 years? Apparently, this strategy isn't working too well. Buehrle>Wood
No way is Walker suited to play everday at 2nd base/SS with that crappy of a glove. He is best suited as an AL DH or a 1B, IMO.
babybearhater
keep in mind he is good against lefties, he was successful as lead off for the flubs, and he killed amnerican league pitching, def an upgrade over willie
witesoxfan
keep in mind he is good against lefties, he was successful as lead off for the flubs, and he killed amnerican league pitching, def an upgrade over willie We have no problems against LHP. The down year we are having is due to having our two best hitters against LHP out for the season. Had Frank and Maggs both been in the lineup, it would be a completely different story. We may need to get someone to replace Maggs's production against LHP...but Todd Walker is not the answer.

babybearhater
no problems against lefties?????? whats our record against left handed pitchers??? it doesnt matter if maggs was hurt, hes not coming back anyway
LosMediasBlancas
Although I like Walker, haven't we said this enough about our hitters over the past 4 years? Apparently, this strategy isn't working too well. Only because those players' offensive numbers have been....well...offensive. I'm just throwing it out there, I heard he's unhappy with the Scrubs and he's a FA after this year.
witesoxfan
no problems against lefties?????? whats our record against left handed pitchers??? it doesnt matter if maggs was hurt, hes not coming back anyway If you read what I said, I basically stated that the problems we are having against LHP is due to Maggs and Frank being out, not due to us being bad against LHP. I also said that it is unlikely that Maggs will be resigned, and that someone should be resigned to take his spot...but Todd Walker is not that guy. Mmmmmkay? CWSGuy406
The one former Cub/BoSock that I'd love to have in a super-utility, Tony Graffanino type role is Mark Bellhorn. I'd also like to have another (wasn't he a former Cub too?) BoSock, Bill Mueller. Now there's a guy that knows how to play the game, and knows how to play it right... SoxFan562004
If it were a platoon situation maybe, but everyday, no way. That guy is a butcher at 2nd, below average in my opinion, and that is the balls he gets to, which is very few due to his limited range
soxman352000
To quaor a clip played on boers and bernstein, "NO" Todd Walker is not a second baseman for the white sox i my estimation
WilliamTell
Walker doesn't impress me, I think I'd prefere Valentin on this team over him.

Yup, he was there for two seasons (I think it was two). I remember he got hurt his last season there, and missed a bunch of time. It was his knee. I'd love him here. witesoxfan
Walker doesn't impress me, I think I'd prefere Valentin on this team over him. I know I would. For starters, he has more baseball instincts then Walker, and the fact that he actually has range helps him too.
