Wong & Owens
OK, here's an interesting article: http://moneycentral.msn.com/content/Colleg...20.asp?GT1=5100 I can't disagree more with this guy. Less population growth = less economic prosperity? Tell that to an African woman with 5 kids. And, who cares about economic prosperity if the planet you live on is a lifeless sand ball? While population growth RATES are declining, an already over-populated planet will have a 50% higher poplulation in 2050, when compared to today. That isn't good news. End of my whiny rant. Thoughts? southsider2k5
I hate the whole idea of the birth to death welfare state that the US has created, so the whole article he wrote is annoying to me. Oh darn, you social security might not be there. :rolly He is also completely ignorant of what made the 19-20th century gains in wealth possible, and that is productivity gains. With all of the automation, research and development that goes on, we don't need 8 kids to maintain the farm anymore. This reads like a high schooler's intro to microeconomics paper. :puke
