YASNY
I believe Danny will go north with the big club, unless he experiences a sore elbow again. He's a good young pitcher, and pitched good enough in the second half to establish himself as a part of the rotation until he proves otherwise. witesoxfan
Clujer....what you are apparently forgetting is that Danny has a bad case of getting himself into the big inning. He could have 3 good starts in a row....giving up 2 runs through 6 or 7 or maybe even 8....and then he'd get lit for like 8 runs in 4....that's gonna inflate your ERA no matter who you are. His 5.17 ERA is a little inflated.....it should be lower....but isn't.

In dannys last 7 starts last year HE went more then 7innings 5 times while giving up no more then 2 runs each of those outings. Of the other 2 he gave up 2 ERS (3total) in 6.1 and the last one of the 7 he gave up 6 ERS (8 total) in 5.... In that span he lowered his era from 5.85 to 5.18 Thats why a lot of people have high hopes for Danny, including some higher ups in the organization. I believe that he did well in the second half thanks to the loss of the "nardi factor". Since nardi had the inate ability to f*** up even the greatest of prospects by his mere presence... I expect Wright to start slow (elbow troubles, sophmore jinx) but if his elbow is fwine i expect him to win 15+ with an ERA around 4.4-4.7 (not bad for your 4th-5th starter) To this day i have no idea why the hell he lasted here so long (nardi that is)
witesoxfan
Didn't Sweet Lou call Nardi the worst pitching coach ever? Now we have him in our minor league system(or so I've read at times)....not sure if that's still true, but if it is, then our prospects are in deep s***. Nardi was basically reasiggned and I don't think he really does anything in the organization. Its just the Sox way of paying out his contract or something. I don't think KW wants him close to any of our pitchers.

Firing Nardi from the Org would rate as a top 10 on the all time best decisions.

I know it all too well how Danny will look great for 5 or 6 innings, then all of a sudden the opposition will put up a 5-spot, and all of a sudden we're losing. This is what I'm saying -- a pitcher with the stuff that Wright has should NOT give up 5-run+ innings on a regular basis. And this year, hopefully he will get over that hump. And your statement of "3 good starts in a row, then 1 bad inning" is not correct. If that were true, he would have had a record better than 14-12. method
is Loazia having that good of a spring? how bout munzo(sp) Munoz has already been sent down to AAA. JM said he would like to see him have more control of his Fastball. Loaiza is 3-1 with a 2.61 ERA this spring, hes given up only 217 hits in 20 innings... with 6ER's of those if i recollect he gave up 4 in one game... So yea hes having a pretty damn good spring, only one doing better is maaybe stewart.

cwsox
hes given up only 217 hits in 20 innings... only 217 hits in 20 innings? I could do that! If that's what it takes to be a starter, I could do that!

cwsox
did I quote that part of the post? No I did not. I only said I could give up 217 hits in 20 innings and I stand by my word.

Well, if you're talking about just that....then hell, I bet HSC or Heather could do that. They could throw a no-hitter if they got naked too! witesoxfan
Just a little clarification From my source(sox2k3 from the MLB board), Loaiza gave up 12 hits through 14.2.....if he gave up 217 hits....he would have had to have given up a hell of a lot of hits in like 5.1 innings....like 205. That's a little too many.
