LDF
At the beginning of the year. Which means since he was are three we should have not had any any expectations for them at all. so in essence your opinion of garland is based on this yr right??? b/c coming into this yr, garland was a lot of posters #3 on this rotation. now i think garland is at best a #4 or 5 and not a #3 as you were saying. I was not here at the beginnig of the season but trust me i thought the sox were f***ed with garland as the number three to start the year. And look they are. witesoxfan
i don't quite remember it that way. the only real question mark was cf. if i remember right and i am admitting that i may be wrong, (b/c i been a whole of wrong this weekend), but a lot of people were confident on willie at 2b, big mo doing well behind the plate, and i remember that many said the rotation was very good esp if sho comes thru. Technically, we only had about 3-4 question marks in the pen...we knew Marte was going to be awesome(and he wasn't, so we were wrong), we knew Koch was going to be s***ty(surprise, surprise), and we sort of knew what we were going to get from Politte. Many thought Shingo would flop(due his WHIP of about 1.30 or so in Japan), and they had no idea what Adkins or Cotts were going to do. Maybe I was alone in not knowing what Harris was going to do...but I don't think I was. Konerko was coming off a year where he hit .230, and we had no idea what Schoenweis and Wright were going to do. From what I remember, we did have a ton of holes, and we came out of it very well. Maybe we got lucky. Maybe Ozzie helped them become better players. Who knows.
