soxman352000
I like Ditkas alot. They got some great pork chops, but I like Gibsons stake house the best. My mouth starts to salivate as soon as reach the city.

Queen Prawn
Can we include Chicago 'burbs too? My favorite restaurant by far is Traverso's. That is one of Brain's favorites. He keeps telling me he is going to take me there, but we never make it... My favorites: Palermos Jenny's Steak House (111th and just off central) Italian villiage (about a block from my dad's work - on Monroe I think) I am sure I will think of more later... Queen Prawn
Going to Geno's East (it is east, right?) today! Having lunch with the guy that was my boss at my last job. (We were the only Sox fans there so it was easy to stay friends after we left the company.) Edited September 16, 2004 by Queen Prawn

Queen Prawn
One of the guys I used to work with swore by Lou's for his pizza. I wasn't very impressed by it when I had it. I've tried two locations and neither were that great. I guess I am just too used to southside pizza lol.
Wong & Owens
Take Out -- Fat Johnnie's(south Western Ave.), Cida(Countryside), Mario's Deli(Bensenville), Vito & Nick's(south Pulaski -- but for sandwiches only, their pizza is horrible), Rosangela's(Evergreen Park), Fuji Grill(Forest Park), Panes(north Sheffield) Sit Down -- Khyber Pass(Oak Park), Jack Gibbons(Orland Park), Morton's(Chicago and Westchester) Duck Walk(north, er Damen? I forgot), Mykha's(Glen Ellyn) Pappadeaux(Westmont), Marbuzet(Forest Park) This list could go on forever. No chains allowed--they are the source of all things evil. Wong & Owens
trudat shuf. i believe pappadeaux is a chain, btw. good stuff though. You're right -- they are a chain. They are my one exception I guess. I initially thought they only had the two chichagoland locations, but later realized there were more of them. BlackBetsy
Gibson's is amazing. The Como Inn is a great place. Love Heaven on Seven for Cajun. Barcelona for tapas. Of course, some of these places might be closed since I haven't lived full-time in Chicago since 1995. Having lived in 3 other cities....Chicago is #1 or #2 in the country in terms of places to eat. (Boston, otherwise sucking, has the greatest restaurant of all time, Dali).
israel4ever
Myron and Phil's (Lincolnwood) Best Skirt Steaks in the world! Smith and Wollensky's - Awesome steaks and great seafood! AngelasDaddy0427
It's too hard to choose the best but I can tell you a place to avoid. For anyone who has ever been to Union Station they have a chinese food restaurant there in the upper levels at the food court. It is absolutely terrible.
