Believe it or not but....

the twins might be the first team to clinch a playoff berth even before the cards do  :puke

I'm sure they will...just be another slap in the face to another s*** bomb season..

and I have no doubt they will clinch at the Cell...the way the season has gone, that will just be the cherry on top for the humiliation that was the 2nd half of our season..

Why not.  They earned it.

In fact, I'd love for the Sox to sit in their home dugout and watch that celebration.  The Sox have earned that.

Because it would be like rubbing an entire carton of Morton's Salt in a laceration. The pain wouldn't go away for a loooooooooong time.

So maybe, just maybe they would soak all of that in, and come out and play 2005 with a chip on their shoulders. Maybe, just maybe, they could go out and hustle, and steal bases, and all of those silly things that the Twins do.

The Sox deserve to sit and watch the Twins celebrate. They have earned it.

Before the season began I quickly glanced over our schedule and recieved a strange premonition of Maddux winning his 300th game against the Sox. While that didn't occur, I agree Minnesota clinching at the Cell would only be a fitting end to this dismal season.

In order for Minnesota to clinch on our home field Twins will need to win tonight, and at the least 5/6 proceeding games. In order to comply with this plan Sox would have to lose whichever game Minn loses. More then one Minnesota loss within the next 7 games (especially tonight) and embarrassment is postponed.

If all goes according to plan this disgrace would truly be the perfect storm of Sox futility.

I was thinking of this last night. If maggs and frank were still playing this year, and we held on to first place up until now. I still think the twins would take the division during this series. i know that alot of what-ifs, but it seems that they get stronger and we get weaker over the course of a season. I feel that if we had no injuries all year, they would still overtake us like last year in this series and take the division. This is why we need to get rid of this team and start over

Ditto - i also hope the Twins clinch at the Cell. Ozzie should make the players on this team watch the celebration...

I'm not sure what watching the celebration would do to the Sox.

One would think they'd watch the Twins celebrating a 3-peat as division champion and get pissed and actually show up last year. But then again, most of us thought they would be fuming and would just come out and play with all kinds of fire and life after Jamie Burke got laid out.

Yeah, right :rolly

This team needs to be shaken up. Not sure who to get rid of, but it definately has to happen.

I agree entirely with this. I have been thinking about it for some time. I think that we need to stop being os loyal to a team that just wont cut it. I think we need another fresh start, pick up some prospects for our players, and build the team from within. I am sick of trying to put stopgaps in place every season. After this many attempts at band-aids, lets just start over and build it again!!! I think we have some decent minors, maybe we can get some more, and lets start becoming a real franchise, instead of a laughing stock

That would be horrible if they clinch it playing the Sox. The last thing I want to see is those bastards celebrating, especially if it's at the Cell.

Why are they bastards? Because they're better then us? I hope they do celebrate when the white sox are there. Give them a little vision of what winning and playing with heart looks like. The Minnesota Twins are better then the Chicago White Sox in every single way and to call them bastards is pretty shallow. :huh

Yes, that's exactly why. What other reason would be suitable for your liking? When another team throughly dominates you for three years its expected that a bit of anomisity would build among fans.

STOP WHINING. Wishing injury upon a player is shallow. Yelling racial slurs or personal insults towards someone is shallow. But a fan admitting a Minnesota clinch on our field is terrible? Nah, not even close.

Let's ask the tribe for some tips on rebuilding...

I'm being shallow?

Look, if you want to go become a fan of the Minnesota Twins, you go on ahead and do so. Hell, I'll even take up a collection to buy you a lovely Twinkies hat.

Why should Sox fans who have seen this 2nd half of a season be nothing short of a train wreck be subjected further disappointment by seeing a bitter rival celebrate their division title in front of their eyes. So what, we can hear more lovely comments about the team or the fanbase from the book of Torii? Or maybe Jacques Jones will chime in this time?

If trying to avoid adding insult to injury is the case, then yep, I'm shallow. :rolly

Maybe its not being shallow, I guess its just jealousy. It's been too long since our team has one anything or been cared about by anyone who is not a White Sox fan. I guess I'm a little jealous, but I can care less where the hell they celebrate, they deserve to celebrate because they kicked our asses. I guess why I'm not so mad at them is because they did it the right way, by building up their farm system with great scouting. They didn't buy their way to the playoffs every year. Sometimes it gets sickening though, when every player they produce does well.

Ex) Brad Radke, Torii Hunter, AJ Pierzynski, Johan Santana(Even though he was signed by Houston), Corie Koskie, Jessie Crain, Jacque Jones, Kyle Lohse, Lew Ford, Matt LeCroy, Michael Cuddyer, Doug Mientkiewitz, Eric Milton, Joe Mays, Joe Mauer, Juan Rincon, Cristian Guzman.

The list goes on and on. They spend more money on scouts and farm directors then they do on salries for players.
