If it's either Konerko or ElCaballo that has to go

I would trade Lee if I had to make the choice.

Believe it or not Carlos is going to have higher trade value, not only because of the things you guys mentioned but also because he is locked in the next few years at a very reasonable rate.

Believe it or not the other GM's around the league are not stupid. They are still going to look at Paulies huge slump year and railroad us. We have alot better chance to getting something good for Lee (especially if he can reach 100 RBI's before years end.)

They'll look at PK's consistant performance, year in and year out, with the exception of that fluke 2003 and know they are getting a professional power hitter. They also know his career "bad" year id behind him, and that his career "good" year is probably still ahead of him.

It depends on the needs of each team and what they have available to offer that will determine whether Lee or Konerko will bring more in return.

So when people want to be whitty they can stop calling me "Carlos", since it is NOT "Carl" in Spanish? Thank you.

I will take Konerko. He drives me batty, but Lee does it more. He likes to swing for the fences WAY too much on first pitches. So does Paul, but not as much, or so it seems.

In spanish class, my friend Carl was given the Spanish name, Carlomagno.

Personally I could see keeping both, but the Sox need to get a left handed bat and improve their defense. However, for them to add more pitching, which I want, I think one of them will have to go.

I like Lee better because he hits for a better average and plays a little tougher position (lf isn't that difficult though) plus he isn't quite the clog on the basepath. However, Konerko has a better eye, more power, and is a smarter hitter.

I have no problem keeping both, but then they will have to find other ways to add some different type of bats, while still adding a left handed power hitter. Hell, if this offense had a top of the order (essentially a leadoff hitter, cause Rowand is good in the 2 hole) and a left handed bat somewhere in the middle of the lineup I'd be happy.

Leadoff - SS

Rowand

Thomas

Konerko

Carlos

Lefty Hitter - RF

Uribe/Crede

Ben Davis/Jamie Burke

Willie

I wouldn't really have a problem with that. Of course I'm one of the few that still would just get rid of Thomas and have a healthy Everett (assuming he gets in good shape and I have a feeling he does) and then go with something else in RF, but thats just me and I know it won't happen.

Jeckle, you can't be serious! Damnit, I was hoping Kenny was going to swing a deal that would send Jason Grilli to the Cubs for Zambrano, Prior, and Wood. But I guess that won't happen anymore, due to this latest developement...

Are you crazy....when the Sox released Mike Jackson it was really a favor to the Cubs who are going to pick him up as their closer for next year. In exchange for our services they are giving us Prior and Zambrono

If they can restructure this team while keeping Lee and Konerko, then that's great. I don't see it happening though. It would take one more big free agent signing to accomplish that. Even though I believe they will spend some money this offseason, I think moving one of these two is the plan.
