Palehosefan
There are quite a few talented freshmen runningbacks this year in college football. I'm trying to decide whether I like Maurice Drew or Adrian Peterson more. Peterson was the #1 RB recruit last year, but I saw Maurice play a few high school games. Maurice had 322 rushing yards today for UCLA, and Peterson had his 3rd straight 100 yard game for OU with 184 today. Maurice is the closest RB to Barry Sanders that I have seen since Barry retired. I think both of these kids can have as big or bigger of an impact than Maurice Clarett. UCLA isn't going anywhere likely, but Maurice will carry them for a few games. Any other talented RB's that I missed?

Rowand44
Any other talented RB's that I missed? Well, Danny Ware was pretty hyped preseason but he's been injured so you can't really put him in this category yet.
Palehosefan
Jeez I don't know how I missed Maurice last year, he didn't red-shirt and did quite well apparently. I guess I can open this up to who's the best RB in the nation. I know Booker, Reggie Bush, KJ Harris, and Cedric Benson have to come into consideration. "A Freshman All-American as a kick returner in 2003, Drew also was the Bruins leading rusher, the first true freshman since DeShaun Foster in 1998 to lead UCLA in rushing. He rushed for 620 yards and 5 touchdowns, while returning two kickoffs for TD's, against Oklahoma and USC."
Palehosefan
I know Darius Walker has been putting up good numbers and getting alot of hype at Notre Dame also.
Fotop
^^ what he said. ^^ Walker is the real deal. Saved the season after the BYU debacle. He def. will do better as he grows, but his vision and speed are very good. He could be another great number 3 at ND.
He_Gawn
Indianas Ben Jarvis Green Ellis is ridiculously awesome.
redandwhite
Andre Callender and L.V. Whitworth from Boston College.
dasox24
I don't know if he's the best, but one of the top 3 has got to be DeAngelo Williams. If this guy played for Miami or Oklahoma, he'd be the top Heisman canidate, but instead he plays for Memphis, so the hype isn't as great. He's so incredibly quick. He can just turn that corner and be gone.
