wildcard question

Recommended Posts

Say the Giants finish play up with 86 wins(hypothetically), and the Cubs have 84 wins with 3 games left. If the Cubs win their next 3 games, they are in the playoffs as the Wild Card team.

The Wild Card teams are not determined until either every team below the first place team is eliminated, or the season is over.

I hope the Cubs choke because they have such an easy schedule. They play nothing but teams that are below .500. Except for the Marlins and the Braves.

They always have an easy schedule at the end of the year. Unlike the sox they've been able to take advantage of that. Either way I'm not worried much about the cubs doing much this year, they were a much better team last year, imo.

Right now, Barry and the Giants are the best hope we have.

I dunno, if Houston can take their DH with SF they have an easier road the rest of the way than SF does. The Giants get LA, SD and LA to finish up the year. Not easy. I think it would be almost miraculous for Houston to grab the Wild Card, the way they were left for dead just after the All-Star break. Gotta give Scrap Iron credit for waking that team up.
