i was kind of hoping we would do bad enuf to grab a stud WR in the draft like i think mike william or whatevr that dudes name that tried to get into this year's draft and got screwed.... he would be a great add for our biggest weak spot.

This offense doesn't need a stud WR. I'd actually like to see Angelo load up on defense, trying to make ours one of the best in the NFL. We already have, at least two potentially awesome defensive linemen in Ogun and Harris, and Brown and Tank will be right up there, IMO. Our linebacking core, with developement, will be one of the best in the NFC, and our secondary - well, that's where I want improvement. I want to have two above average corners - we already have one with Peanut, another would make our defense unbelievably good...

I feel the same way.

I'm in favor of drafting a CB with our 1st Round pick, and a LB with our 2nd Round pick.

We also need a new kicker. Edinger has completely lost it.

Either of those guys would be badass!  A big playmaker WR would be very nice too, since we don't have one really.

Jerry Angelo will botch that pick. He know his defense, and then some. But we'll end up with another Curtis Conway or David Terrell if we go that route. After all, both of those guys were the second WRs taken in their respective drafts IIRC.

We're the Bears, you know? George Halas says that it's a no go. Just stick to defense, o-line, and rushing. Those are going to have to be our areas of excellence. Do not, I repeat, do not...attempt to break the mold. :D

I don't think any Bear fan is expecting playoffs this year.  We want to see developement and good signs from this coaching staff.

Case in point:

Week one, penalties are basically the cause of the loss.  You could point to the blocked FG, but penalties really hurt this team against the Lions.

Week two, we come out, and only have like one or two penalties.  The coaching staff made an awesome adjustment during the week in practice (adjustment probably not the word to use, correction, whatever).  That's what I loved seeing.

IIRC, we're one of the youngest teams in the NFL.  Hell, I don't care if we go 4-12, as long as we show progress.  Then, in the draft, grab a stud LT/WR/DB, and go from there.  We have our core; and, when this team is healthy, I think we are one WR away from being a damn good football team...

If you expected playoffs from this team, you would be sorely mistaken...that's why many Bears fans were not.

I do think this team needs to grow though. You basically have a rookie QB out there, you have a first year starter at HB, and there are not a lot of proven commodities in their receiving corps.

One thing I loved that the Bears did during the offseason was improve their offensive line. Getting Tait and Brown was just huge, and that's what I based my thoughts on them potentially being a playoff team on.

I do think they are better then a 4-win team, even now. Then again, 4 wins got the first choice in the draft last year...that's another thing to consider.

How about Mike Williams or Braylon Edwards, then this team is f***in dangerous.

Add Mike Williams to this offense, and it is on. Then they have the deep threat to make all of the underneath guys covered one on one, and keep the extra guy off of the line to let Jones to his thing. Williams would make the Bears a playoff team.

indefinitely just became a definite period of time, 7-10 weeks to be exact.

LAKE FOREST, Ill. (AP) -- Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman will miss seven to 10 weeks with a right knee injury, a blow to a secondary already stretched thin by injuries to Mike Brown and Jerry Azumah.

Tillman said Wednesday he has a tibia plateau fracture, a hairline crack in the soft tissue between his right knee and upper leg. Surgery isn't necessary, but Tillman must stay off the leg as much as possible.

``It's very, very small. Nothing extreme. Nothing serious,'' Tillman said.
