Hatchetman
this is the point where some bright young gm trades FOR gload and makes him a starter.

I'm at the point now where i have officially no idea what direction we will go in the offseason

Xero
.311 BA, .372 OBP, .430 SLG, .802 OPS I would like to see better power numbers from Ross, but I definitely can't complain with what he's done thus far. You gotta love his debut season on the South Side. For some odd reason when ever I hear the name Ross Gload, Jeff Liefer pops into my head
DBAHO
Qwerty my friend, please give up on the Konerko trade stuff. If it happens KW is certifiably crazy and should be committed. Gload can't replace Paulie, but can fill the role of reserve quite well. Anyone who has read the Cheat's latest blog entry on Konerko, can see why it's a perfect time to move him, while his value is sky high. His home splits are way higher than his away splits. If we can get a real good package deal like Milwaulkee got for Sexson and the Cardinals got for Drew, we should absolutely look into making that trade, while we have an able replacement in Gload. DBAHO
For some odd reason when ever I hear the name Ross Gload, Jeff Liefer pops into my head Too bad Liefer is almost the complete opposite compared to Gload. Liefer just couldn't hit for an high enough average to be an everyday player.

Good offensive production, though. So? And Juan Uribe made an error on Opening Day at the Cell. What's your point? Give Ross a chance to play at one set position - be it right field, left field, or first base - and let him work at that position alone for a bit, and I think he can turn into, at the very least, a servicable defender... If Ross hasn't become an OK OFer by now, I doubt it will happen. I know people point to Carlos, but Lee was way younger when he made the conversion. Plus Gload has played more OF in his career than Lee ever did before making the switch.
AngelasDaddy0427
Ross is a great defensive 1B in my opinion. However I don't want him to be the starter. If we could get full value for Konerko then I would certainly tolerate it but I think Ross best serves us as a utility player. There are cheaper alternatives to put at 1B if we do move Konerko. 3E8
Opening day is NOT the same as the cubs/sox series. Yeah, he also missed a grand slam by about five inches to start the series at Wrigley. He followed that retracted home run up with a two-run bases loaded double. Guess who now holds the best BA with RISP on the Sox now... Sorry Timo the door is that-a-way ----------> Gload's RISP average is up to .400 -- With an OPS of almost 1.100 --- Suck on in timo. Soxy
Ross has been my favorite all year--at the beginning of the season he was my avatar and every game I went to I wore a I heart Ross Gload shirt. Glad to see the kid living up to his potential. Ross Gload
