fathom
I think that if Juan Uribe is either the 2b or SS for the Sox next year, and they find a replacment as the other position, then I have no problem with Crede at 3b. 3b are pretty expensive to find, and Crede can give you solid power numbers if he's batting in the 7-9 range. However, a starting lineup of gload at 1b, everett at rf, harris at 2b, and crede at 3b would not be the way to go.
Gene Honda Civic
Does anyone know how many win shares Crede has? http://www.hardballtimes.com/main/wsalteam/ These are about a week old. it says Crede has 13 or 7 Win Shares below average. Heads22
I will be beyond pissed if Konerko, Lee and Crede are not starting on the Sox next year.
KipWellsFan
You can always count on Crede to have some very clutch hits throughout the year. Now he just needs to get over whatever hump is holding him back.
SoxAce
I love Joe Crede. So do I.

I agree... knowing there is not all that much money hanging around, crede is not as some could be... and i doubt you could get a super upgrade at any position via trade for him, so i say spend the money where the really really large holes are, not @ 3b... for it is only a pea sized hole I dont think we need to worry about gload @ first base... at least not yet... while he has been excellent off the bench and spot starts, I dont think he is quite the type of guy ozzie and kw want on the field at all times. Rowand44
I say we keep him. Way too much potential. Way to go, Joe. I ain't gonna criticize you tonight. Nice at bats, nice blast to rf for the homer after Jamie Burke failed miserably before you. Upgrade at catcher, KEEP JOE CREDE! Are you basing your judgements on one night?? We need a new third basemen next year imo, however I'm perfectly fine with the catching situation, a burke-davis platoon is pretty darn good, imo. Molto
I don't think you trade Crede, but finding another option to play in front of him should definitely be considered.
witesoxfan
this is his first full year @ the majors Except for his 151 games last year at 3B, yeah, this is Joe's first full year. :rolly
YASNY
Crede is still worth holding on to. Of course, so many said we should dump Konerko and Rowand during the past offseason. And yes, our catching situation needs a SERIOUS upgrade.
toasty
I think it is going to be a situation of which positions are the worst, not what needs fixing altogether..... catching is serviceable with davis/burke, so is crede @ 3rd i doubt they change those

Pastime
Wow. Clueless Joe had a great night in a meaningless game. How special. I'm so glad that our average-fielding, below-average OBP, streaky, moody, hack and little baby 3B had his one shining moment in a worthless game. When the games counted, he was choking at the plate, throwing balls away, and being a jerkoff as a teammate. I'm glad that the bad reputation has alluded him, and he's become a hero now that the season is over and just a miserable failure - a failure he was a great part of. I say because of his great game today, we just give him a complete pass and ignore all his shortcomings - he's a hero!! He's a real building block for the White Sox future. NOT. Sometimes stats lie and don't tell the real story about a player. Joe Crediocre is the poster child for wasted potential and "opportunistic stat-padding." He sucks, and if he's our everyday 3B next year, then we are f***ed nine ways to Sunday.
The Critic
Just as an aside, as far as derogatory nicknames go, Crediocre > Cruddy

Anywayz...I almost agree with everything you said, but I also think Crede's best value to this franchise is trade bait...Hes still 25, solid glove and a 3B with "potential". I think other teams still think hes a change of scenery player who it will click for all of a sudden once his brain catches up with his talent. I for one don't ever see that happening and if we can get a good player in return I am all for it... Plus has anyone else noticed Crede's Inability to tag out runners? I.E. last night, the time he tagged the bag and not the runner, etc, etc...He doesnt look down and just puts the glove there!! Is he really that weak minded??? Queen Prawn
I went to sleep when the 8th started and it was 6-1 KC. While driving to work I heard them say the Sox won. I figured the chick just misread it since they were too busy creaming over the cubs. to Crede, but as Critic said, I still want a new guy at 3B next year. DBAHO
Just a hunch... Ben Davis will be the worst hitter on the team next year. I think Paul LoDuca would look nice on the Southside, although I don't think he'd want to sign with a AL team. A Marlins columnist thinks he could be had for $21 million over 3 years, or $6.5 million a season. A lot of ppl would like to us to target Jason Varitek as well.
