kapkomet
I gotta say - I'm impressed with the Rangers. Oakland is ALWAYS firecracker hot in the second half, and this year is no exception. The Rangers took care of business this week and are only two games out of first place. Now that the Sox are out of it, completely, I gotta admit I'm rooting for the Rangers. It would be AWESOME to see the "kids" (see PAYRod quote at spring training) win a AL West title... Go Rangers!
Flash Tizzle
Rangers needed nothing less than a sweep entering this series and rightfully earned their way back into the AL West Race. Currently, Anaheim and Texas have matching records with 5 games remaining between the two clubs. While I have no preference for either team, I'm gleafully anticipating the Billy Beane bashing which will ensue after an improbable late-season collapse. Afterwards, I suggest baseball executives collectively agree to refuse trade with Beane and Jim Hendry during the offseason. Beane will be unable to promote his "moneyball" tactics while Hendry supporters will shut their mouths about him waving a "magic wand." Sick of these goofs being heralded as geniuses. Palehosefan
I like watching the Rangers play, they are a young team with fire. [rant] However, I can't STAND listening to the guy in the booth with Tom Grieve. I can't think of his name at the moment, but he is a moron. He just doesn't seem to care to know about the opposition and just likes to make offhand comments that are completely ridiculous, whether its about Uribe being average defensively, or not even knowing why Shingo was called Mr. Zero and yet making fun of him during the game after he gave up a run by calling him Mr. 9.00 or something. I know he's there for entertainment purposes, but come on, you gotta bring a little knowledge to the game also. He's the current Dick Vitale of MLB. kapkomet
I agree... I was watching that game about the whole Mr. Zero and I thought to myself even Chimp Carey would know that. Stupid ass.
YASNY
The Rangers have impressed me all year. Showalter has gotten the most out of them. Their pitching staff has been held together with duct tape and baling wire all year, yet they are still right there.
