Chisoxfn
Well, I think we all know that the Sox are going to make a change and add a leadoff hitter. What I want to know is who do you want, and how do you propose they get that player (preferably realistically).
Xero
I say the Sox go after Juan Pierre. I would love to see him on the South Side. I wouldn't mind giving up Lee for him.
Chisoxfn
For me it comes down to a group of a few players: Luis Castillo, Juan Pierre, and Rafael Furcal. Outside of them, I think Hairston, Chone Figgins, Brian Roberts, and Jimmy Rollins would all be solid pickups and of course Omar Vizquel as well. However, Chone ain't going anywhere and Rollins has a questionable obp. Both Castillo and Pierre have very good OBP's and are just sweet top of the order guys. Castillo is easier to get, imo, because he makes more then Pierre.
SuperSteve
Furcal.
WHarris1
Pipedream, I know, but if we got Figgins...holy s***. Anyway, I say make a strong push at Pierre.
SoxAce
For me its.. 1. Furcal 2. Pierre/Castillo 3. Figgins 4. Roberts I wouldn't mind Visquel eigher (he'll be the most realistic one I see)

Roberts I wouldn't mind Visquel eigher (he'll be the most realistic one I see) That's Vizquel ace. Anyways I'd love castillo, Pierre, Furcal, Figgins, Vizquel, basically all the guys you mentioned I'd love to see on the sox. Wouldn't it be awesome to acquire Pierre and sign vizquel, now that would be a 1-2.

Soxbadger
Pierre or Crawford. SB
Rowand44
We tried that with Lofton and Durham and it only worked for about the first month of the season. Because lofton got injured, our offense for the first couple of months was extremely dangerous with those two guys at the top of the order we saw what a 1-2 punch like that could do, then lofton got banged up and in the words of hawk POOF, it was gone. Roberts I wouldn't mind Visquel eigher (he'll be the most realistic one I see) is jreedfan coming back? speaking of reed, he could have been good at the top of the order. the person i would most want would be furcal, then castillo
witesoxfan
I'd like to see Ichiro at the top of our order. But maybe that's just me.
CWSGuy406
I'd love to get Hairston, and Damon if available (which I've heard, but maybe that isn't true). Hell, get both, and we have two damn good leadoff guys...
AngelasDaddy0427
AROW needs to stay the #2 hitter at least no matter what. In my opinion if we don't sign anybody Rowand needs to be our leadoff hitter. If we are going to go out and get somebody then we either need to get Ichiro or Crawford. Otherwise it's not worth it. Aaron Rowand is not a number two hitter. He can't bunt, and doesn't have an inside out swing to move over runners. I would much rather see him hit leadoff if we don't find a lead off hitter. If we do he would be great to anchor the bottom of the line up.

Castillo is easier to get, imo, because he makes more then Pierre. Castillo while he still gets on base at a good percentage has lost a step step and a half speed wise. Reason for his decreased amount of stolen bases. Pierre will not come here because he is very cheap for being a top 3-5 lead-off hitter in all of baseball. Marlins of course don't want to any money if possible because it would be hard for them to get any good talent back in the same price range. Hairston has proved nothing really outside of this half year but maybe someone to look into. Figgins is a pipe dream. Roberts same as hairston. He_Gawn
Why do people still think Arow is a number 2 hitter. Have you watched the f***ing games?

He_Gawn
Thats exactly where I would put him. He can hit for average and power. Sets the table for Frank and whoever else we pursue.
