qwerty
Both have potential, and Grilli has less major league experience, so I think he had the most room to improve. And what would you rather pay for potential, 4 million, or under 1 mill......not exactly a tough decision OUT Grilli is 27 and has not proven much in the minors. He is not a starter at the major league level. Garland will also not get 4 million a year. More like 2.5-3 million a year.

Then that means Kelly Dransfeldt would be an MVP with the few games he has played with us this year. As for what players do in the minors, come on, all I have to say is Joe Crede Grilli has pitched a total of 66.2 innings, who is to say he wont improve, give him some time, at least it wont cost us much. Garland may only be 24, but he has started 125 games already in his career. Who is to say we havent seen what he can do already. When you are comparing what two pitchers have achieved in their major league careers, and especially with potential, 12 games to 125 doesnt seem very fair does it OUT

It is as simple as that. He has the potention to walk7,8,9 guys any given game. That is how bad he is control wise. He is not good enough to get over all of his walks he dishes out. More times than not players who that are bad in the minors or just not very good never pan out to be anything in the majors. Their have also been many others like crede who are great in the minors but don't do much in the majors. They would be caled 4a players. You can post stats, psych references or sabermetrics. He has only 12 games of experience, nobody should be closing the door on him yet. He came back from arm surgery, made it through the system, and is pitching with energy. I dont think he is going to be an ace, but I think that he can be as good as Garland has been, and can go about .500 for a season. This at a larger discount, and it sounds good to me, and I think to KW (the real GM) as well. Whether it is him, BMAC, Felix or whoever, they need to save some money somewhere, and I think this is the spot
