Rex Hudler
From about 96 or 98 to 2002, he hopped around because he stunk. Or perhaps he wasn't doing the things he needed to do to get better? Perhaps he was immature and disruptive and the improvement wasn't coming along fast enough? I don't know his situation, but 6 teams in 6 years is A LOT. Yes players move and there can seem to be reasons, but often there are reasons behind the scenes that drive things more than you know. SuperSteve
Well I have my one little theory, but I didn't wnat to get into it cause its based soley on my mind. I think Scioscia had his ego hurt and that one thing you don't want to do is piss him off. He's one of those guys that likes getting talked about and he was definately shown up when Gullen pulled his tantrum. Like you say, I figured something else had to happen but today on the morning radio some of the best reporters out here were on and they said stuff is starting to die down and come clean and this is the issue. As far as Guillen goes, he's not one to keep incidents quiet. He's been quoted as saying if I disagree with something I'm going to say it. And with him getting shipped all over, he was rushed to the majors and never panned out. Once he did he was in Cincy and was a FA and they were out of contention. It made sense to deal him, so he went to Oakland played through a broken wrist and the A's weren't going to give him money. Ended up signing a 2 yr 6 mill deal with an option for 2006. Plus there was an abundance there. Dunn has to play. Kearns was good last year. Griffey obviously. Willy Mo Pena is solid, but looks to me to be a lil too full of himself. Ryan Freel, whom I am a big fan of. They did what any team would do. I would really like to know what Jose Guillen really did.
YASNY
Guillen is a talented player that is a bargain salary wise. He'd be a good addition to the team as far as his skills go. On the other hand, it hasn't been too long ago that we had a clubhouse cancer that effected the performance of the entire team. Royce Clayton. Jamie Navarro before him. It can screw up a team atmosphere. Based on what I do know about Guillen, I'd risk it. But, I also understand that I may not be privy to all the information that is out there .... information that the Sox players and KW may be aware of. qwerty
Jose Guillen - OF - Angels Don't be surprised if the Royals make a play to acquire disgruntled Angels' outfielder Jose Guillen in the offseason. The 28-year-old Guillen has certainly worn out his welcome in Anaheim and the Royals need a power-hitting right fielder. Kansas City manager Tony Pena is friendly with Guillen and is well aquainted with the outfielder's fiery temper. Oct. 1 - 7:49 am et Source: Kansas City Star From rotoworld. For the love of God, no, don't let the f'in Royals get him. I want him in RF more then I think I've ever wanted anything before.
qwerty
Jose Guillen - OF - Angels Jose Guillen and the Angels have reached a financial settlement to resolve the grievance filed after the team suspended the outfielder without pay for the rest of the season. The sides agreed that Guillen will not rejoin the Angels for the remainder of the regular season. If the Angels make the postseason, they will have the option of including Guillen on the roster. witesoxfan
I can already see him next season. beating us in a super important game, where we should have kicked the Royals ass. :headshake And it will cost the Sox the division too. Please, KW...do not let KC get Guillen. Keep him the hell out of the division at the very least. Jack up his price and if you are "unlucky" enough to acquire him, so be it.
