Cy Young Porzio
What b****es. who do they think they are with their 2 languages, and their hockey, and booing the national anthem at a sporting event! they act like they are taking such a big part in the war. And then they go back the next day and cheer us. Atleast they know who their daddy is.
Mathew
How about the Piston's fans last year? Or the Islanders fans? Your post is so wrong it's a real shame. The people realized that there was a better way to voice their discontent(those who had any) and should be praised, there were 3 home games comming up this week end and rather then turn them into international incidents, they respected the players, the game, the anthem ect. BridgeportHeather
You must realize that it was the Montreal Canadiens fans who booed, while the Toronto Maple Leafs cheered. Montreal happens to be in the French speaking part of Canada. Draw your own conclusions here.
baggio202
it wouldnt surprise if the rest of canada wishes that quebec would have broken away from the rest of canada... there are canadians..and then there are "french :fyou canadiens" i hope when toronto comes to town that sox fans show class and do not return the favor so to speak...should also be pointed out that there were people there cheering the anthem and other looking like they we singing it...but they got drowned out by what was probably a loud minority
witesoxfan
I bet in Montreal during the Expo games....if they boo like that....you wouldn't be able to hear it because there's like 5 people watching the game.

The french Canadians in Montreal usually boo the Canadian anthem. Baggio is likely pretty correct on the number of Canadians who don't care if Quebec is part of Canada, they are a minority now, but not as vast as one might expect, hell here in Western Canada it's not to uncommon to hear "If Quebec leaves, take Ontario"

Last years incidents have little if no effect on what happened in canada and ofcourse your gonna go against me in this being that your canadian. And yes i realize there are two types of candadians since i did say "2 languages" but they are all canadians more than anything else. Plus in reaction to another comment i doubt the "loud minority" of the crowd was overshadowing the majority, actually if you saw it there was a majority booing. Did anybody see Canadian Bacon when they are driving the car with the insults written in english all over their car and the cop pulls them over....he tells them that if they have signs they have to be in French and english, so they have to write all the insults in French too? (sorry to change the subject, just all this anger and stuff in Canada made me think of the movie, haha )
Mathew
There are more than two types of Canadians, around 30 million different types. I didn't mean the games last year were the reason I meant that same as last year, there are idiots in every country who would disrespect these things that we hold dearly, they are idiots no matter where they are from. However, to call the fans in Montreal b****es for doing the right thing the next night I can't quite understand. P.S. From what I read and heard it was close to 50/50 in the arena, but who knows.
