Gene Honda Civic
Cubs had a 10% chance of making the playoffs before todays game... It's down to less than 5% now, but there is still the faintest of hope left.
smalls2598
well, we would need 2 wins from either the giants or astros to officially say its over. :fthecubs

DonkeyKongerko
I'm hoping the number is down to 1 tonight and then tomorrow the Cubs can lose out with style with Maddux going down to his former playoff-bound team.
Flash Tizzle
Switching between local radio outlets and Cubs.com the "blame Dusty" campaign has begun. It is possible Cub fans have grasped the idea of attributing their choke to an actual person, instead of a Billy Goat curse?

I'll believe it when fans stop showing up when the team is 30 games below .500.

Yoda
they can always blame bartman again Things would be a lot different if the Cubs were to win 6 out of 6 from the Chicago White Sox. But no. The Sox took 2 out of 3 at the Cell and if the Cubs don’t make it to the playoffs than they may very well look back at the Cubs @ Sox series. Though that's just my opinion. No, they'll look back at when they lost 5 of 6 to cellar dwellers in the last week and a half of the season, and realize that they choked. danman31
I'm telling any Cub fan I see that their season is over (hell I was telling them that before today's game!), but this is too official. You will be hanged to death if the Cubs make the playoffs.

NUKE_CLEVELAND
thank god for houston huh? I really got to hand it to the 'stros They were left for dead, they had injuries to key players, they looked like they were done back in August. No worries. They grabbed themselves by the balls and made something happen and they're going to compete for the Championship now. Good for them!!! It took him about 2 weeks to get them going and once he did they never let up. Scrap Iron!
