LMAO We should pull up some of those old threads

Due to my exceptional talent of searching our archives I found one prediction thread with interesting comments. Several of which were written by a Russian douchebag/Cubbie Prostitute who has since been banned.

Public Enemy #1 on the northside has to be Dusty Baker.

He facilitated an environment where it was OK not to accept the blame for losses. He created an environment that was primed like a powder keg ready to explode under the immense pressure laid on the cubs by the media and themselves. Not one player on that team went out and played for fun at all this season. Every game was a life or death situation. And through it all the was dusty, the great appeaser, letting the players make excuses from opening day when they opened the season without prior.

Sure there is blame to be passed around throughout that lockerroom. The players are the ones who did not perform. The collapse of the last week was even more tragic than the events of that october night last season when bartman touched that ball, because you could see them all unfolding from light-years away.

LMAO. Thanks man. That thread is hilarious. Especially after everything that's happened the last week. Israel4ever deserves some kind of award. He called it way back in June. He was right on just about everything.

I'll tell ya what though... israel4ever was a f***ing genious when he was typing his statements. That's a TRUE poster who knew his stuff ahead of time.

Bow at the feet of the Master!

(Just kidding! ;) )

Seriously, the Cubs sufferred from lack of talent, heart, a manager, a closer, a bench, defense, on-base guys.

No lack of scapegoats and/or alibis though, (Steve Stone, Billy Goat, Umpires, Wendell Kim, hurricane, schedule makers, the media).

As I said MANY times before, the cubs won't ever win with Dusty Baker as their manager. I hope they extend his contract to at least 2014.

I'm shocked that anyone could blame Dusty Baker. With all the rings he won with the Giants he certainly knows his stuff. :lolhitting

And before some digs up a really really old thread. I once complained that the Cubs got Dusty and we kept Manuel. Then I complained that the Cubs got Dusty and we got Ozzie. (although I liked the hire, I didn't like the symbolism)

I was wrong about Dusty. He truely belongs on the Northside.

Anyone see a shot if Sosa in the on deck circle as the game ended? That must have been priceless.

I will bet a weeks salary he had a corked bat with him.

This is a good point.

The Astros have been without Pettitte and Miller for a while lately, while the Cubs have been healthy, with the exception of Nomar and Ramirez's groin strains.

Fact is, they CHOKED away the WC by losing a slew of one-run HOME games to "inferior" teams over the last week. Simply amazing how poorly they play the game.

25 blown saves for the loser cubs didn't help their cause!

Seruiously, would you rather have the Cubs season or the Sox? Right now it is easy to say the Sox but by December, I may be leaning towards the Cubs. Excited until the closing weekend.

Doesn't matter...either you are in the playoffs, or you're not!

I think it does. For soem being out of it in June or July just causes the whole baseball season to be a wait for next year. We knew by September 1 it was over. Cub fans could cheer and boo the entire month.

I agree to some extent.

However, if you were a cub fan, would you view 2004 as a successful season?

Do you view the 2004 season as successful for the Whitesox?

Both were unsuccessful. I actually take it a step further the only successful team last year was in Florida.

But, is it better to be the 2003 Tigers or the 2004 Cubs? That is the question.

Neither team won anything!

Nobody remembers the also-rans...nobody cares.

But as a fan following a team, would you rather follow the 2003 Tigers or the 2004 Cubs? Is it better to be in a pennant race all the way or know it's over in May?
