HoosierSox
Does anybody agree with me that Joe Borchard is an Adam Dunn clone? 45 home runs and a strikeout record seems like the kind of numbers Joe could put up if given a full season. Certainly the strikeout record but with his power I could see him putting up Dunn type numbers as far as home runs and RBI's as well. I dont think its time to give up on Joe yet is what im saying. No, his ba, obp, walks, and slg are much worse than Dunn's. They're not even close.

Gene Honda Civic
I would to JoBo if he could get on base at a 40% clip.

Yossarian
People are still sold on his potential. I think you just ought to watch him play and then you can come to only one conclusion. He's not close to an Adam Dunn. Actually he's not even close to a major leaguer. He's a bust of major proportions.

Hatchetman
i could see him hitting well enough if he were a good CF, but he will never hit well enough to be a corner OF. i could see .235 30 homers, 50 walks, 185 k's.

I think whatever K record Dunn just broke add about 15-20 to that and you got our boy Joe. I think this kid could go an entire year in the .170-.180 he's that slow with the bat. Sorry folks, but for that big bonus we only got some nice feelings of possibility and little more. He's really not good, sorry.
winninguglyin83
supposedly they're sending Borchard to the Mexican League. They're convinced that hitting the breaking ball is his major problem and he'll see tons of them there. I think he's got another flaw. the high, high-octane fastball. If he goes to Mexico and comes out Adam Dunn, I'll be the first one in line to eat a load of s*** for giving up on him, because I have, but I just see a defeated kid with a slow bat and running out of options. Good luck Joe.... and if u do break out, please eat as much chocolate as possible I have a sweet tooth.
WilliamTell
Strike out wise he could be very similar to Adam Dunn.

Hatchetman
russell branyan would be an improvement. borchard needs to make a major, major change in approach.
winninguglyin83
Borchard has multiple problems. He missed valuable developmental time playing football in college. He seems to be totally without confidence at the plate. He has a slow swing. He's fooled by the breaking ball. And he's carrying the weight of expectations created by his $5 millon bonus and draft pick hype. Other than that, he's in great shape.
