Texsox
Astros.com link Astros manager Phil Garner, not wanting to put his team in any situation where it would have to fly cross-country for a one-game playoff to get into the postseason, announced prior to Saturday's game that win or lose that night, Roger Clemens would pitch the regular season finale on short rest at Minute Maid Park on Sunday. Clemens will start against the Colorado Rockies with the chance to lead the Astros to the National League Wild Card playoff berth. A win would clinch it. A loss, coupled with a Giants loss, would also clinch it. But should the Astros lose and the Giants win, the two teams would play one game to determine who goes to Atlanta for the Division Series, which begins Wednesday I've become a huge Clemens fan. I really really wish he grew up on the southside and wanted to finish his career as a White Sox.
israel4ever
Astros.com link I've become a huge Clemens fan. Clemens wanted to pitch for the Sox at half of what they paid Navarro, but Sox management thought that Clemens was "washed-up". :headshake :banghead

Texsox
Clemens scratched from start By Jim Molony / MLB.com tickets for any Major League Baseball game HOUSTON -- Houston's playoff push was perhaps made a little more difficult Sunday when the club announced starter Roger Clemens was scratched from the regular season finale because of the stomach flu. Right-hander Brandon Backe was to start instead against Colorado. The Astros lead San Francisco by one game in the National League Wild Card race and can clinch the final playoff spot with a win against the Colorado Rockies. Should Houston lose on Sunday and the Giants defeat Los Angeles on Sunday, the Astros and Giants would be forced to play a one-game playoff on Monday at SBC Park in San Francisco. Backe is 4-3 with a 4.35 ERA. Clemens is expected to be able to pitch on Wednesday at Atlanta should the Astros make the playoffs.

Oh man Clemens would have rocked with this team.
Jordan4life_2007
Clemens isn't pitching today. Something about a stomach virus. They're still winning 5-2 in the 7th

I have pointed to that many times.
