Mr. 3000 $2,601,000 THIS WEEKEND Mr. July became Mr. October as Will Smith set a new opening weekend record for the fall month with the computer-animated hit Shark Tale which helped to put some bite back into a slumping box office. Also opening well was the firefighter drama Ladder 49 which placed second for the weekend. For the first time in seven weeks, the top ten films broke the $100M mark and for the first time in five weeks the marketplace powered ahead of last year.
