greg775
Well folks, today is the worst day of the year. The end of baseball season. It's time to mourn. Winter is ahead with wind chills and ice and BlackHawks and Bears and Bulls misery. Somebody cheer me up when we get close to the day pitchers and catchers report. That is a good day, but the best day of the year is Opening Day. No more snow and month after month of sun and warm weather and baseball. And yes, Easter beats Christmas and T-giving as a holiday. Good bye until Opening Day.

It really hits you when they announce in the usual, announcerly way, "Our next broadcast will be March etc", that it's going to be a long time. Queen Prawn
I get through the off season by watching hockey (this year, twice as much minor league hockey as usual) and the end/beginning of NASCAR. Oh and football is another get me through - college and NFL.
whitesoxin'
I dunno what's gonna happen of me this offseason. I bet I'll still be around, probably just not posting in the pale hose forum. Bulls will probably be awful and the Bears will be the Bears. VU basketball starts soon so that is good.

winninguglyin83
What's wrong with the offseason? We don't lose any games. We can stir up some optimism And we can't get swept by You Know Who.
DonkeyKongerko
I'll be ok until February. That month just kills me with boredom in sports. At least next February will only be 28 days long. March is probably the second worst but at least you got the NCAA tournament.
YASNY
There are two seasons. The baseball season and the off season. That's it.

FlaSoxxJim
There are two seasons. The baseball season and the off season. That's it. That is it exactly! Today begins the long, dark winter of our discontent. It's a necessary evil in some ways though, because I have a few months to get a lot of work done and make up for the slacking off I do during the baseball season. Sox1422
There are two seasons. The baseball season and the off season. That's it. C'mon now. The bears may suck again this year, but the NFL is a great league and fun to watch. College basketball is one of the most exciting sports out there. Nothing like a big upset. College football is entertaining Hockey was boring until the playoff anyway. and who doesn't love the Pro Bowl?

The Bears may suck, but theres alot to watch thats fun. Take a look at their D-line, most of them are barely old enough to drink. Thats some serious building blocks there. As well as a young secondary. A great running back has finally come to town, and maybe a young receiver in the draft, and we are competing next year. As for the bulls, im very pumped to see there draft picks play. Gordon and Heinrich are going to be exciting and Deng is very explosive. At least one team in chicago is developing young talent.
