Butter Parque
We already know Everett will pick up his option and Politte already did. So with them signed what is our payroll rightn now with all of our potential free agents excluded from the list (i.e. Ordonez, Valentin, the alomar's)
Rex Hudler
The easist way to describe it is the Sox are or will be committed to roughly $61-$62 million for 20 players. The numbers are somewhat arguable but that is pretty close. That includes estimates for players like Crede, Harris, Rowand, Davis, etc. that are not yet under contract. Barring trades, the Sox will need to fill about 5 roster spots.

DBAHO
no one knows where it will go...... its all speculation, at this point I saw a good article from Ken Rosenthal that stated why teams should be raising payrolls for next season. With the new TV deal in as well, and attendance pretty high during the season when the Sox were in contention, there's no doubt that there'll be a bump upwards of the payroll, the question is how much? Don't forget the Sox radio deal will be less than what it has been, so there will be money lost there.

There have also been the big ticket price increases the past few years to factor in.

Butter Parque
It looks as if our scouts will have to find some hidden gems who will come cheap.
