Texsox
Not going to happen I can dream can't I? BTW, I love your avatar Answer parrt 2 They need to be able to fill holes and/or upgrade without creating new holes. Winding up with a better SS and a lesser 1st baseman isn't the answer. It's not the mix, it's the overall talent.

Wise Master Buehrle
We need a perennial star to come up and be awesome. Albert Pujols style. We had Maggs, but he is no Albert Pujols. I guess the best we can hope for is that Brian Anderson will be a machine.
3E8
I really think we should go after Derek Lowe. He could be a sleeper. I like his career 3.4 G/F ratio and that he's averaged less than 15 HR's given up per year as a starter. Also, with him having a bad year in 2004, he cannot command a draining contract. Good 3rd starter.

I'm just wondering if there's anyone you'd take over him (let's exclude Pedro) if the prices were close.

But watching the playoffs have turned me off of Ortiz, Perez, Wright, and even Radke. I would hate to overpay for one of these guys and have it turn out to be a bust. If the prices were close, I'd probably take Radke or Perez over Lowe but you know Lowe will be the cheapest in that bunch. I think we could realistically sign Lowe for $4 mil/year, maybe less. Again, I really like him because his style is very condusive to winning in Coors East. Garcia Buehrle Lowe Contreras Garland I think that's very good. Lefty Of Love
I really like the idea of the Sox going after Radke...someone on this forum mentioned that it would be a rare opportunity to make both our team better and the Twins worse. The guy pounds the strike zone and doesn't hand out walks - cut the amount of BB's our pitchers issue by even 10% and we become a significantly better team. Anyone got ideas how much Radke might cost?

I've been leaning towards Perez (who gets a good gb/fb ratio too, just not ridiculous good like Lowe), and I still am, but I wouldn't put money on him having the better year. I don't think Radke will get $9 mil, whatever HE starts at.

I have read that lima's value has doubled after his performance in game 3. But i highly doubt that is the case.
qwerty
From RotoWorld??? I read that to. I actaully beleive that. He might get around 4 Mil from someone next season. Ya, it was rotoworld. At the time i could not remember where i read it. In lima's case he may get more money than going into the post season. Because some team that is really desperate will dish out the money. But in most other players cases i don't feel whatever they did in the playoffs will affect them any if at all.
