greg775
Are we actually happy we haven't dominated our division like the Twinks? How can you explain that gutsy Twinks team that everybody says plays baseball the way it's meant to be played and has some dominant pitching AGAIN got flicked away in the playoffs? Are we glad we didn't even make the playoffs since we would have had the same fate as the Twinks the past 3 seasons? That was a damn good Twink team and it went NOWHERE. Nobody remembers division champs.

Flash Tizzle
How can you explain that gutsy Twinks team that everybody says plays baseball the way it's meant to be played and has some dominant pitching AGAIN got flicked away in the playoffs? Questionable managerial moves by Gardenhire in Game 2, Game 4 sealed the fate for the Twins. I believe it's that simple. Are we glad we didn't even make the playoffs since we would have had the same fate as the Twinks the past 3 seasons? Not many will agree with you on this idea. You can't predict what our fate would have been against the Yankees. Last year in particular, Yankee fans were relieved when the Sox fell short of the division. Our team manhandled the Yankees in 'the Stadium' and appeared to play with extra incentive when the Bronx Bombers were sitting in the opposing dugout. That was a damn good Twink team and it went NOWHERE. Nobody remembers division champs. Three straight divisional championships solved that. Whether or not this division is weak, Twins deserve respect. I was hoping Twins would beat the Yanks, and lose to whoever else was playing in the American League Championship. Regardless, winning the division and exiting early is FAR better than three consecutive 2nd place finishes.
CWSGuy406
Last year - and I'm serious here - if we would have made it to the playoffs, I honestly believe we would have really been able to make some noise. Colon was dominating down the stretch. Buehrle was pitching well after a poor first half, and Loaiza was continuing his magical run. Boy, I hate to harp on the past like this, but last year - f***, how did we not win that division? If only we'd have made it there... If's, if's, and if's- seems to make up the history of the White Sox...
WilliamTell
I am glad about the Yankees winning. I guess they don't bother me that much even though they buy their talent for the most part.
qwerty
And no one remembers 2nd place. I dont understand people on this subject. I had the debate with a few board members about the Braves winning 13 staright, and how it doesnt mean anything if you dont win the WS. While yes, it doesnt mean anything becasue you didnt win the WS, you cant get to the WS when your not in the playoffs. I just can't understand how you can ask the question if your happy the Sox havent dominated the divison and gotten to the playoffs. I dont get it, :headshake :headshake I agree i don't understand how why he would ask that. I would always like the sox in the playoffs because it at least gives to a shot at winning the world series like you said.

soxman352000
Weren't you one of the people discrediting what Atlanta has done???? You can't discredit anything. Facts are the Braves and Twins have been continuos playoff contenders for the past few year, but always seem to choke. Still, that said I'd rather get in the playoffs and lose than not get in at all. And don't forget Jon was actually consistant the 2nd half of last year, having an era of about 3.9 i think the 2nd half of last year. Last year f***in kills me to look back on, cause if we got in we had a real chance to win it all.
qwerty
He did say this..... Interesting............ Yes if you do lose in the playoffs you are just like all the other teams that did get into the playoffs not world champions. But of course i would want to get in the playoffs and at least have a chance rather than watch all the other teams consistently every year. I got a feeling they breeze through the Yankees, beat the Sawks, and take out the Fish. Too many bad losses though...Loaiza losing 1-0 3 times, losing 8 games to the Tigers, getting swept by the Tigers, goin 3-7 against horses*** teams before the ASB, and then losing 5 straight to Minnesota...that killed us. We win half of the games I just brought up, and we are in the playoffs with ease. Damn, that is hard to think about. I atleast want to see Frank get back to the playoffs...JR needs to spend about $80 mill and give the Sox a legitamate chance at getting in this year...we need to f***ing beat the Twins next year. Butter Parque
I respect what the twins did this season. There a great team and they did it the right way. You have to respect that.
DonkeyKongerko
I respect the Twins as well. How does it reflect on the Sox when we are usually dominated by the Twins in September? It's the closest thing our guys had to a postseason in '03 when we went to the dome. How do you think they would have performed under October pressure which is many times more than that? It would have been boom or bust in October. Either they would have been embarrassed by New York and booed off the field in game 3 as the Yankees wrapped it up in Chicago, or they would have very well and would have made a lot of noise.
