Back then, Michael Jackson still was black.

Now, Michael Jordan is retired.

I was in Kindergarten...but:

I disagree with a few.

Buehrle would be compared to Alvarez....both are lefties. Garland would then be compared to Fernandez....though someone may want to do some checking up on that one.

Also....I think it is fair to compare Thomas to Thomas....but that is MHO.

Here's who I'd choose between them:

Colon or McDowell - this is close, since McDowell was pretty nasty in 93 - even

Buerhle or Alvarez - not even close - Buerhle

Fernandez or Garland - Fernandez was more developed and hadn't yet plummeted - Alex

Loiaza or Bere - while Loaiza has looked good, Bere was better in 93 - Bere

Wright or #5 - would that have been Steib? - either way, this is a wash - even

Konerko or Thomas - sorry, Paul, Frank was maybe the best hitter in baseball then - Thomas

Jiminez or Cora - Joey Cora did a lot of nice things for that team, and D'Angelo hasn't done anything yet - Joey

Valentin or Guillen - I want some D from my SS, so I go with Ozzie

Crede or Ventura - this is close all of a sudden, too, but I still take Robin

Alomar or Fisk - not even close - Fisk

Lee or Jackson - two DH's in left field - I was one of the few people I knew who didn't like Bo Jackson, so I keep that in mind and take C Lee

Rowand or Johnson - I also HATED Lance Johnson, so I take Rowand out of spite

Ordonez or Sax - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAAAA - Ordonez

Thomas or Burks - can I have TWO Frank Thomases on my team? - I take Frank

Graffanino or Calderon - I was a big Calderon fan, so I take Ivan

Daubach or Newson - I am becoming a big Daubach fan, so I take Brian

Miles or Pasqua - this is closer than I figured too, but Miles hasn't done it in the bigs yet, so I go with Danny SweetLeaf

Rios or Raines - Raines actually started more games in left than Bo, didn't he? I take The Rock

So I end up taking more '93 guys than today's - but if things go the way I think they will this year, this could be a team people bring up in comparisons like this for years to come...

Jackson was the Left fielder by default, he was playing because of Tim Raine's injury, and actually Raines still played a hell of a lot more. So Raines vs. Lee, well, Lee certainly has more power but I think the 2003 Sox would be better suited with Raines(because of an overall lack of speed) and the 1993 Sox would have been better suited with Lee(because power was needed more than extra speed). As for who is a better overall player...Raines. He was a Batting Average, OB%, Stealing threat. Plus "Rock" was one of my favirote players
