Gene Honda Civic
Red, it's hard to defend the fans who throw foul balls back on the field, need a beach ball for entertainment at an ALCS game, and throw balls (repeatedly) back from outside the park. And you wonder why we called them the red cubs.

Here we go again... you guys just find any and every reason to hate this team, unbelievable. :rolly When you consider that tickets were going for 1000+ per seat, you have to realize who the majority of fans are in the place. 25% die hard season ticket holders, 10% die hards willing to spend the grand on there seat, and the rest the more economically gifted idiots. The beach ball was lame, I'll admit, but throwing the ball back was exactly what you, I, or anyone else would have done. Give it a rest, Jesus H. Christ. Your point on whose at the agmes is well taken. But if any ball is hit to me, their isn't a chance in hell that I'm gonna throw it back on the field. I'm gonna be staring at my hand thinking, is the pain I'm feeling now worth the ball...and then I'll take my bows

True White Sox fans don't throw the ball back. That tradition is from the other side of town.

I'm gonna be staring at my hand thinking, is the pain I'm feeling now worth the ball...and then I'll take my bows Last year when I was at the Cell, during BP Carlos absolutely ripped a ball down the third base line where I was standing. It was heading about 2 rows back near the corner, and I stuck out my hand like an idiot, even though I wasn't wearing a glove. Well it just ticked my middle finger, but the guy next to me did the same thing, and actually got solid enough contact to knock it down. He got the ball but his whole hand turned purple within like 6 seconds.
DonkeyKongerko
They're still the Red Cubs. If there's any team in baseball more similar to the Cubs than the Red Sox feel free to name one. Otherwise I have plenty reason enough to hope they continue to fail. Go Cards/Stros

Red Sox fans don't throw the ball back unless there s***faced, high on the Patriots winning streak, and hating A-Rod more than ever. That tradition is on the Northside of Chicago, and only the Northside.
Chisoxfn
I am sure the guy didn't catch considering it landed outside the stadium though. Hell, I didn't read the hole thread. I still wouldn't give the ball up. Nor did I watch the entire game or any of the games for that matter. This series has been a big dissapointment to me, although the final innings have been very good of all the games by the one on Saturday. I've been glued to the Astros/Cards series. danman31
If I get a ball there is no way I'm throwing it back...period. I might throw the ball to the ground in disgust if it was a big HR in a big game, but I wouldn't throw it back to the field of play. Then again, if it was that situation I would probably never pick up the ball unless it was right to my lap.

I've never caught a foul ball, but at a hockey game once, the puck flipped up and landed in my uncles beer. Pretty hilarious.
Yoda
The Red Sox have failed miserably. I was being real optimistic before the series started saying that the Red Sox will finally stop the bleeding against the evil empire but I see that I was being a little too optimistic. They win last night’s game but it’s still a do-or-die game for today.
Flash Tizzle
Trouble abrewing here in the 11th inning. Two aboard, 0 outs, Caveman Damon up. EDIT: 1 out. Moron popped the bunt to Posada. Loaiza entering the game in replacement of Quantrill. Yanks are f***ing screwed.

Flash Tizzle
Game over, Red Sox win. Loaiza is trash. Not yet BROTHER. Esteban enduces an inning ending double play. Yanks don't pull across a run right here Boston will win. I just don't see Esteban fooling Ramirez/Ortiz unless there's a two run cushion to work with.
