If a flyball advances a runner a base, it's called just that - a runner advanced.
soxfan420
its a sac fly he got the runner over so it doesnt count against his stats isnt it ???
clujer420
Is it safe to assume that the Royals will pretty much have their regular team playing today? If so, it would be nice if our bench and minor league players could beat em. Through 3 innings, it's 1-0 Sox (I'd do updates, but once again my Real Player is not functioning properly). clujer420
its a sac fly he got the runner over so it doesnt count against his stats isnt it ??? I know that with a groundball, if it's obvious that you're hitting a groundball with the intent of getting the runner to the next base (hence, "sacrificing yourself"), you may not have the AB counted against you (it's the score keeper's call). However, I think it's a bit different with a flyball. Either way, it wouldn't be considered a "sacrifice fly" -- you would get credit for it under "runners advanced", or something similar to that. clujer420
nah its a sac fly he is sacricing himself in a pop up form to the runner over what is the difference? SF: Sacrifice Fly. A sacrifice hit (SH) done with less than two outs, fair or foul, that allows one or more baserunners to tag up and score.
