Chisoxfn
Lol, I remember all that stuff. I was always lazy in highschool though. I'd to the bare minimum to get on my right pathway. But college is way different. Since I pay money and my parents pay money I try a lot harder otherwise there isn't a point to go. Well, that and college actually means something. Oh ya, do guidence counselors actually do anything? Mine never did a damn thing. She even forgot to send in my letter of recommendation to some school. Thats probably why she isn't there anymore

Molto
it'll come soxfan. it is pretty hard to make up your mind in high school, cause there is a good chance it will change anyway. if that was the case, I would be going to college for business, something I now hate, and wouldn't be here talking to you guys, or own the site. LowerCaseRepublican
No they get paid money to bug kids and then they dont do anything to help. i swear they work just so they can come out with surveys 420, counselors are, for the most part f***ing douches. I speak from having dealt with quite possibly one of the most insane ones ever. My junior year of high school I had a counselor who told me that I would get a 19 on the ACT and that I shouldn't go to college because I would never get in. I got a 27 and got into the college I wanted. This guy also told a friend of mine to "become a rodeo clown" because she wouldn't get into a good college with a 24 ACT and a 3.6 GPA. Then my senior year, I didn't join National Honors Society (I had the GPA and everything, I was just lazy and didn't fill out the forms) But the guidance counselor had this delusion that I was depressed about not getting in. So, I challenged him to find my application forms in the list. He then when behind my back and started discussing it with my mom who laughed at him. He also told my friends' parents that their kids were doing illegal things which they weren't. The guy was a f***. Just be glad you didn't have counselors like that. And the kicker is the first counselor was a priest! haha (and no, he did not try to sodomize me)

Mr. Showtime
420, counselors are, for the most part f***ing douches. Fo sho. I had a counselor who would call me out of a CLASS, and down to his office, which is not unusual. The very first thing out of his mouth was "What we're you doing"? witesoxfan
The only thing my counselors have ever really done for me is help me with me schedule....I got my schedule changed, and then I got registered....and that's it. I remember in grade school when we'd have the counselor come to the classroom and talk to us about stuff...like harassment and teasing and stuff like that. I wish I was a junior high tech ed teacher.....because when I was in Jr High...I swear the only thing my teacher did was play games and look at porn. I never saw him do that....but both of them(because there were two teaching two classes....the same class, just 1 class room)....were on their computers all frickin class. I'd ask one for help, and he'd say look in the book....so I'd ask the other one, and he'd say ask your teacher. And they were both assholes(if you couldn't already tell). Jr high sucked...high school's a frickin utopia compared to Jr high.
KipWellsFan
In my school where we have around 1050 students and we have 5 different counselors. One of them is great and has really helped me but I'm not so sure about the others. I've heard some pretty nasty stuff about them. I just got the luck with getting the right counsellor I guess. Mathew
I owned my councillors, you just don't take s***. They told me some of the classes I was taking were full so I had to swich, I just kept going to the classes I wanted till they accepted it. They told me they didn't have S.A.T.'s at my school I said I wanted them just to give them a try and b****ed to the elected superintendant and in the end got my way. Once you go over administration's head they listen much closer next time.

Basically, what you should try to achieve is get as much of a high quality all around education, now. That will prove to be a very good foundation for whatever field you decide to go into. Good luck to you.

I heard that one of my schools history teacher was looking at porn before class and then his computer crashed with it all over the screen. Then the bell rang and all the students saw him looking at it. But hes still teaching so I bet thats just an urban legend...
