A stand-up comic once (I can't remember who) once said Texas was the only state where you could get off on a murder conviction by using the "he needed killin' " defense: Judge: Son, why did you kill that fella? Man: Well Yer Honer... Aj'm sorry but... Well he NEEDED killin'!! Judge: Hmmm, well, OK you can go. Just don't go killin' anybody that doesn't need killin, y'hear?"
