redandwhite
BoSox will do everything they can to keep Varitek, but at the same time they ahve so many free agents that he could get lost in the shuffle. which is exactly how the Red Sox differ from the Yankees. Theo Epstein came out yesterday and flat out said, we know we arent going to be able to resign them all, and I understand. As frustrating as Varitek gets at times, I just can't see him anywhere else but in Boston.. Keep in mind, I couldn't see Nomar anywhere else but Boston either. redandwhite
Gabe Kapler filed for free agency. He's an excellent ballplayer, a class act, and a team player with immense talent. If the White Sox trade Lee or something of that sort, I hope they look long and hard at Kapler.

redandwhite
Kapler>>>>Timo I agree. I am sure Super Jew as he is called in Boston would bring alot of jewish people to the park aswell.
Hatchetman
look, timo is the worst player in the majors, so i agree. that doesn't mean kapler should be considered a starter with us. there's only one superjew and that's mike epstein. i'm sure he could still hit better than kapler. santo=dorf
have you bothered to look at his stats? Kapler= SOX KILLER!!!! If it weren't for the White Sox, the man wouldn't have a job in the MLB. Also, can anyone please explain to me why the Yankees declined Paul Quantrill's 2006 option today? According to rotoworld, the Yankees had to make a decision on the option by Monday. What kind of contract is that?

According to rotoworld, the Yankees had to make a decision on the option by Monday. What kind of contract is that? He is getting older, and obviously not going to be worth $3.6 million in 2006. They have him for next season and could always resign him for less next offseason.

redandwhite
yeah, but why couldn't they wait to decline his 2006 option next year? Most likely just some kink in the contract.
witesoxfan
yeah, but why couldn't they wait to decline his 2006 option next year? Because they're run by a bunch of goofballs? I honestly have no idea. They probably have their reasons.

qwerty
Also karros was released by the a's in either june or july so he no longer has the team option. He is contemplating retirement from what i have heard.
