whitesox91403
Don't know if this is the thread for this or not. I was looking for the feature ESPN does every off season about the top 50 free agents and predicts where they will end up. I haven't been able to find it in some time. Anyone know where to get it at? JUGGERNAUT
Trackers: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/freeagents http://mlb.mlb.com/NASApp/mlb/mlb/news/hot...ent_tracker.jsp http://www.usatoday.com/sports/baseball/04-05free.htm http://cbs.sportsline.com/mlb/transactions/playermovement/AL Pick one Tally: 38 FA declined arbit. If they don't sign a contract with that team by Jan 8th they can't talk again until May 15. He Gawn .. as they say. 129 FA's were not offered arbit & can't talk again until May 1st. They Gawn .. as they say. That leaves 120+ guys KW can talk to
JUGGERNAUT
For those who are lazy, FA's for CWS holes to fills: SP: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/fre...s?positionId=15 2B: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/fre...ts?positionId=4 C : http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/features/fre...ts?positionId=2 I wonder if KW knows about this Polanco accepted arbit w the PHI. Not much left for 2B. I'd go with M Cairo. Pickings are slim at C as well. I'd go with T Greene. There's still some pickings at SP. KW can still find a solid #4 to drop Garland down. I'd go with O Perez. Worth the $. Lieber signed a 21/3 deal with PHI? Did Hendry fall asleep at the wheel on that one?
bulokis
Joe Randa signs with the Reds per rotoworld. They said Kearns experiment at third may not work.
southsideirish71
According to rotoworld The Dodgers and J.D. Drew have agreed to a five-year, $55 million contract, the Bergen Record reports. That's a better deal than what they reportedly offered Adrian Beltre. A healthy Drew might be worth as much as Beltre, but this a player whose career high in games played is 145 and whose second highest total is 135. He shouldn't have gotten this much money. Ozzie's Accent
Seatlle paid >>>>> for Beltre than LA did for Drew. The worst of it was that LA developed this guy for so many years and then when he finally has a breakout year, they just let him walk. They had too much invested in him to let him go to another team for not a huge dollar difference.

They had practically decided he'd never live up to his potential. They could have tied him up multiyear for a helluva lot less money. s*** happens. They had too much invested in him to let him go to another team for not a huge dollar difference. That was way too much money IMHO. I would have let him walk too. I don't like seeing those huge contracts. They can go great, but sometimes seem to bog teams down (Sosa, Ramirez, Piazza, Higginson, Appier, Green, and the list goes on and on). raff
what a silly contract for eckstein. he is not worth more than 2 mil a year. and also 3 years? they are a team who coulda went out and signed a better SS within a year or two, horrible.
