POTUSChris
yeah, but the chi-town dems make sure that illinois is always a democratic state during the presidential elections. IIRC, the GOPs havent won IL. since the 84 or 88 election. 1988 was the last time the GOP won Illinois, and I know Chicago is the reason why IL has gone to the Dems the last few elections. I just wanted to point out that Illinois is more Republican than some thing. Just don't think I did a good job of voicing it. If the state party stopped being stupid, there would probably be more Republicans in the state.
southsider2k5
Obama looks the part so far.... I hate to say it, but everytime a minority canditate seems to get going, they seem to get torn down. Hopefully it won't be the case with Obama. LosMediasBlancas
My state is usually democrat by a solid 15%. Then we had a fraud Governor use his homosexuality as a scapegoat for criminal acts, and now the state is tied in some polls. If I was 4 months older, I would vote for Kerry. I like the democratic party outside of NJ. However, in NJ the dem's run a politcal machine that any other in the country. I think the democrats botched this election by picking kerry. Perhaps the ranks are running thin, but with a good candidate this could have been a landslide election. The only reason they have failed to take a decisive lead is because kerry is so damn stale. As silly as this sounds, I don't think the Democrats really want to win this election and that's EXACTLY why Kerry is on the bill. I don't think they want to inherit the mess in Iraq and just want to see Bush ride it out. I think Bush will be declared the winner (3 weeks from now) and 2008 will bring us Gore or Hillary vs. Gulianni.
Chisoxfn
I still can't wait for the Apu/Heads ticket.... Just tell me when you guys head the democratic ticket cause I'll make sure to be on the republican ticket
mreye
Will Obam even be old enough to run for president in 2008? I will admit, I think Obama is a big time up and comer in the democractic party. I don't know enough about him to say I'd vote him over Bush cause I probably wouldn't, but if he is really means what he says in the few interviews I've seen with him I'd at least say I respect him. I can not say that for John Kerry. Jason, check Obama's record. If you're a true Republican, there isn't a chance in hell that you'd vote for him over Bush. He screams Socialist. It's sad that the Illinios Republican party couldn't come up with anyone better than Keyes and Obama's record never became an issue in the race. Oh no, I agree with his actual voting record (and the leftness of it). I don't agree with a lot of his issues, but at the same time I can honestly say he's so much better then John Kerry...which is all I'm saying. The only democratic I would of even considered voting for in this election was Lieberman and well he didn't get much support. I just don't agree with the policies and ideology of the democratic party. However, at least so far it seems as if Obama is sincere and actually sticks to his message. Kerry is saying so many things that completely contradict with his entire record and people are buying it. It absolutely kills me to watch Kerry's speaches. So many people complain so much about Bush, but I stick to my opinions, he's a pretty straight shooter, especially for a politician. Wasn't Ditka going to be the persona they were going to put on the ballot instead of Keyes, but he decided to hold out. I got a feeling next time around Ditka will be running for some sort of elected position in Illinois.

Seems like when the Jack Ryan thing blew up the Pubs just gave up and called in the Sacrificial Lamb, Alan Keyes. They didn't really have time to establish a viable candidate so they sent in the Rick White of politics to take the beating.

I just think it's time for the National party to come to Illinois and clean house. The Illinois GOP is such a mess right now. (Thank you George Ryan) I say this from the outside looking in. hammerhead johnson
You wanna know what's funny? This other website that I post at (vinyl website) has a poll like this and Kerry is winning right now by a score of 34 to 0. Now that is comedy. Gotta love the vinyl heads. I think Bush will be declared the winner (3 weeks from now) and 2008 will bring us Gore or Hillary vs. Gulianni. thats is very intersting. makes some sense, but i just cant see the dems just handing the election to dubya. i mean kerry is not the PERFECT guy i want running for the dems, but he does appeal to a lot of voters. even though there are MAJOR problems in the US, there is no way that the dems would just let the GOPs win the election. and IMO there is not way that gore will run in 08. IMO, a dark horse candidate for the dems besides hilliary would be either obama(it may be too early), or our very own cub fan governor, blago. KipWellsFan
I can't vote but I'd definitely be going with John Kerry. I don't agree with him on many issues but I think he is a very strong person with good values that many of us would be doing well to imitate. kapkomet
I think you may be the first person I've ever seen that doesn't like Bayh... Look at Indiana's fiscal state now. You know why it's so bad? Why is the state in such hard times to where they had to raise the sales tax just so it could balance the budget? You can thank Mr. Bayh for that crap. Who was there to cut school funding every chance he got? Bayh. Yes, I was there in Indiana when he was governor. He was only so popular because he had no accountability at all. Just my two cents.
