Winodj, dont you feel kind of screwed? I am Republican but if Bush conceded the election, I know Id be pissed. I mean, you gave your vote to John Kerry. You gave your time to him and you picked him out of several others. Howard Dean, Wesley Clark, Al Sharpton (God help us all) could have been there trying to win the presidency. But you guys chose John Kerry and he quit out on you. You chose him to fight for your beliefs and ideals, and he abandoned you. Doesnt that kind of piss you off?

But as Wino said in another thread, the popular vote alone should have made Kerry concede. I abhor the electoral college. If Kerry would have won that but lost the popular I would have been upset as well. The people spoke and although I disagree, that's what democracy means.

One question....who the hell is your source on all this.....George Soros  :huh

-The Draft - NOT GOING TO HAPPEN (Bush has stated that fact)

-Removing Financial Aid (When the hell did he say this???)

- Iran (Ya, its quite possible that in a few years something will happen their...they are a dangerous country, but hopefully it can be solved in a peaceful manner).

- 8 year rule ain't going anywhere

Jas -- and we all know Bush is the paragon of telling the truth.

I mean look at his distortions during the debate, not even taking into account the past 4 years.

At least until Bush kills us all.

Bush will be taking away our financial aid soon so we can no longer go to college without our parents help to help our invasion of some other country while Iran and Saudi Arabia plot against us.

Bush will reinstate the draft.

Bush will make it so he can be president until he dies. The 8 year rule is no more.

So we had a choice between a dictator and war criminal or a lame duck president. We chose the war criminal.

But aside from that everything is just peachy.

shut it

no one cares.

why don't you keep repeating the same 2 ideas over and over again?

oh wait, that's what you already do.

It was over! and everyone concedes. By the way if you already knew this... sorry.

I don't feel screwed. I feel concerned. And determined. It wasn't enough for John Kerry to win the electoral vote. He had to win the popular vote too. He didn't. This doesn't make what I stand for any less valid. It just means we need to find the right message and perception. PERCEPTION and not ideas are sadly what elections have become about. Republicans have spent 40 years figuring this out, ever since Goldwater in 1964. We figured it out a year ago. Considering that at the GOP low point, they lost by 27 points in 64 - and we only lost by 3 - I'd say we're in better shape than you might think.

I'll be the first to admit that I said some stupid and crazy stuff the last night and a half but I don't think this is so far out there.

This is the obvious conclusion. The uneducated are the ones that voted republican mostly.

Thus how do you keep people voting republican? Keep them out of colleges.

How do you keep the poor and middle class out of colleges? Take away their financial aid...

Umm, I don't know how you say the un-educated vote republican, considering the more money you make (which typically correlates to education) the higher the likelihood that you vote republican.

We could talk all day about the reasons why. Is it really because they are smarter or does it have to do with hte fact that republicans tend to be for low taxes which realistically gives the rich a nice windfall (in my opinion rightly so, since they pay the highest amount to the government).

Lets see. First you admit you said a bunch of stupid things then you get right back to............saying stupid things. I voted Republican and I went to college.

Take their money away? I don't suppose education IRA's, and the millions in financial aid that goes unclaimed every year will sway your warped thought process any.

I just love how you complain that Republicans are uneducated. Why is that? Because they dare to disagree with the leftist intelligensia? Funny but your average Republican voter is a suburbite or rural person with a house, kids and a steady job.

Maybe we all aren't PHD holders and stuck up intellectual snobs but if your side ever expects to be in power again you might do well to reach out to Republican voters instead of trying to jam your socialist utopia down their throats then call them stupid when they reject it.

Ohh come off it. All you hear on the news is how the educated went to Kerry and the uneducated went to Bush. All i'm saying is Bush noticed. Plus his war budget has to come from somewhere. He has already killed Social Security again and he is insistant on giving more tax cuts while increasing the size of goverment to record numbers. I long for the days of the fiscally responsible republican.

I'm wasn't trying to say that all republicans in general feed off the uneducated. I'm saying Bush and his extreme right wing cronies feed off them and I wouldn't put it past them to try and do it.

I actually voted for a few republicans and the people that I want to see president right now (John McCain, Colin Powell) are republicans. But I will never like Bush taking away our civil liberties and relying on fear to push an agenda of making the rich, richer and the poor, poorer.

Where did you get the info that the uneducated voted for Bush? Most republicians are uneducated? If the repubs are the party of the rich, how do you get rich and uneducated at the sametime? What you are saying is completely contradictary. You need to get on your meds or something.

Hey guys, I just wanted to throw some props Winodj's way. I want to always here the other side of the issue, and I will always support those who get off their butt's and do something about it. I made friends with 4-5 people on tuesday, all on the other side. I had a great time working the polls from 7am to 8 pm and then my guy Charlie Dent won and his victory party was awesome.

I want to extend my hand and say let's bring america together and move forward. There are so many issues we can address and find solutions to and hopefully we can just drop the partisan BS. We all want prosperity and freedom in the US, so lets work together to make it happen. John Kerry was classy yesterday and I hope that he takes his resolve to the Senate and submits bills on topics that he was campaigning for. He himself has a mandate as the Democratic leader.

God bless the US!

It was before the election on CNN. I must of heard it mentioned like 10 times.

The sad thing is all I really want is for John McCain to be president.

Now for some actual data instead of just conjecture. The only educational brackets that went for Kerry were "little high school" and "post-graduate". Bush won "high school", "some college", and "college grad". So the "uneducated" that you said voted for Bush, voted for Kerry by a small margin (50-49). Depending on what you meant by "educated", Bush won out by small margins in 2 of those 3 brackets, with Kerry winning the post graduates by a decent margin.
