Texsox
I think when a minority when the White House it'll be a black Republican. I agree 100%. It will be far easier to combine REPs who will vote for their candidate and liberal Dems who would be happy to see the gender or race line erased. I do not see GOPers crossing over to vote for a minority Dem no matter how well qualified. I thought Liz Dole would have made a great VP pick, possibly even a Presidential pick. As tired as a thoust as it is, Obama shared a lot of voters with Bush in Illinois. If dems could find a relatively conservative democrat like Obama, I'd hope GOPs would overlook skin color and look at his political views. I don't think many Dems voted for Keyes because he was so conservative, and I doubt he got a lot of votes from Dems because of his skin color. It would be sad to see if, like you guys say, Republicans were racist enough to not 'cross-over' to vote for a well-qualified Democrat. Are you serious? Have you looked at this guy's voting record? He's a Socialist! And, I don't think that it's an issue of Republicans being too "racist". I think it comes down to the fact that black Dems tend to be more on the left than most Dems.
