Chisoxfn
Of course the AP had a story and felt it was the Sox that were going to sign him today or tomorrow. We shall see.
EvilJester99
Worries me is KW might be worried about getting out bid on this one and over pay majorly....
AnthraxFan93
Worries me is KW might be worried about getting out bid on this one and over pay majorly.... I hope not, I rather outbid for Caberea than Guzman
SoxAce
He'll be a Whitesox by tomorrow.
whitesox91403
He'll be a Whitesox by tomorrow. I honestly would have no problem with that. If not Guzman, then give me Ronnie Belliard and slide Uribe over to 2B.

If you're talking about the Belliard from Cleveland, he's a 2B.

whitesox91403
If you're talking about the Belliard from Cleveland, he's a 2B. Your right, typo there. I meant Belliard at 2B and Uribe at SS.
Gene Honda Civic
Your right, typo there. I meant Belliard at 2B and Uribe at SS. But he's not a FA.
Chisoxfn
But he's not a FA. Is he just arbitration eligible? Cause I thought I read at one point that Cleveland wasn't expecting Ronnie Belliard to be with them next year. I thought at one point they were rumored to potentially non tender him, but thats just off memory so I am probably wrong, lol.
jasonxctf
Why would anyone be excited about Christian Guzman? Isn't he Willie Harris with a lower OBP? Guzman (576 AB) .274 AVG 8 HR 46 RBI 10SB .309 OBP Harris (409 AB) .262 AVG 2 HR 27 RBI 19SB .343 OBP

Guzman (576 AB) .274 AVG 8 HR 46 RBI 10SB .309 OBP Harris (409 AB) .262 AVG 2 HR 27 RBI 19SB .343 OBP No Guzman has shown he can hit for a higher average, but other then that Willie is superior in terms of OBP and of course his price is a hell of a lot better. But I completely agree with you. I sure as hell hope this talk is insidesr thinking Kenny is going to force shortstop and that in fact Kenny has already turned to look into other areas (thats what I'm hoping for at least). jasonxctf
Willie's pro-rated numbers to Guzman's AB's leads to 3 HR, 38RBI's and 27 SB's.

Willie can't figure out how to steal a base, he gets no reads off pitchers.. with all that speed and is still clueless.. and Guzman is the same way.. KW DON"T SIGN GUZMAN
fathom
One thing Guzman is on another planet when compared to Willie is bunting. With the way that Ozzie manages, this is one of the only reasons why a Guzman signing wouldnt upset me greatly.
Gene Honda Civic
No Guzman has shown he can hit for a higher average, Has he? .260/.281/.357 on the grass the last three seasons... He would play 150 games on the grass if he came to chicago.

They have been trying to trade him ever since the world series was over.
