I think Glendon Rusch would be a good P to look into. Saw him at an Astros game and he looked awesome. Could also spot start.

Also, maybe a Robb Nen. Sign him to a minor league contract with an invite to spring training. He has some nasty stuff when healthy.

I hadn't thought about Nen, what is his contract status?

His health status is very questionable, but I brought him up in one of my first blog entries. His arm will never be 100% again, but he wants to pitch again this year.

I think signing him to a minor league deal would be fine, but I figure he'd be more comfortable accepting that sort of contract with the Giants.

Free agent Matt Mantei called Cubs GM Jim Hendry yesterday to discuss a possible one-year deal.

Mantei isn't going to handed the job by any team, but he still might head into next season as a closer, possibly with the Cubs, Rockies or Marlins. Although last year was a disaster, he should still be effective while healthy. Nov. 18 - 2:13 pm et From rotoworld.

What the hell can we not offer that the rockies can?

The Sox have also expressed interest in Mantai, though he prefers the Cubs.

Rocks are also looking at Rob Nenn. I think if its a reliever the Rocks name is being mentioned with the club. But your right, the Sox should look at him. He'd be a similar acquisition to Flash Gordon.
