Rooftop Shots
Don't know if this issue was posted on an earlier date, but usually every year I get a 9 game package which guarantees lower deck boxes to any game. Just received my 9 game order form in the mail. No wonder Yankees, Red Sox , Angels and Dodgers play on wekends this year. They are all in a special group at $39.00 per ticket, Cubs games are now at $44.00 per tick..Depending on the team and date, the others range from $30.00 to $34.00. Definately NO PACKAGE for me this year. Tickets are sold by which team / and day is in which bracket. Too much to explain, but here's the breakdown. Regular Prime Premier Cubs L.D.Box $30.00 $34.00 $39.00 $44.00 L.D.Reserved $26.00 $30.00 $35.00 $40.00 Bleachers $24.00 $28.00 $33.00 $38.00 U.D.Box $18.00 $22.00 $27.00 $32.00 U.D.Reservd $14.00 $18.00 $23.00 $28.00 Last year the teams I wanted were...... I think it was $520.00. This year, the same thing would cost me $630.00! Add $17.00 parking per game and the cost is now $680.00 for 2 tickets for only 9 games! Add to the fact that we had (How many 30.000 plus.... fan attended games last year?) Plus dumping Maggs/ Valentin/And possibly Konerko's salary. My gosh, how can the spending of money on players even be an issue? This is just plain nuts.
JoshPR
SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT. Reinsdorf is raising tickets again? And he has a limited payroll??? Unf***ing Real :headshake
Gene Honda Civic
Florida raised ticket prices on season ticket packages by over 100% .... Needless to say they aren't raising payroll there either... It's all relative folks.
DBAHO
I suppose Reinsdorf will be using inflation as his main defence for the rising ticket prices again.

Rooftop Shots
Rather sick of hearing about trading in bulls Rings for a W.S. Title. Then dump 3 big salaries, raise ticket AND parking prices again, give him better fan attendance last year, and then play dilly dally of not putting profits back into the team . Someone is definately shooting some B.S. at us.

It has been more than ten years since our last 10 ten pick only other team that can say that are the braves.
JoshPR
C'mon -- the worst the Sox have been in many years is mediocre. We haven't sucked in quite a while. Still Mediocre doesn't cut it. Sorry but it's the Truth. I don't mean going nuts spending money but at least saying hey, Go after with whatever at the right players. No but the Sox have to settle for crap like Pokey Reese, John Grilli and Mike Jackson :puke

So you were complaining about an 30 year old slugger with a possibly career threatening injury, a platoon worthy SS, and a guy who's still on the team? Wouldn't doubt it if in the future they still want to screw around with the waste-case Danny Wright.
JoshPR
Would you have given Guzman a 4 year $16.8 million deal or Omar Vizquel a guaranteed 3 year $12 million deal? NO! I said go after the Right players with whatever Every year. Ohhh were standing pat. I think Joe Borchard can be the everyday right fielder he's got a bunch of talent and Jason Grilli made strides to be the fifth starter..... Yeah Grilli made strides to AAA and Borchard's talent is making wind with his swings

Honestly, I agree w/ you that ticket prices are getting out of hand. (I haven't been to a game that I myself had to pay full price for in years, just for money reasons. Although, to be fair, I don't really think there's any simple solution.) I'm just saying, the Sox have really put a decent product (always competitive and interesting to watch -- though putting it as coldly as possible) on the field for more than 10 years now. That's far from a team that "sucks". To be fair, you HAVE to consider attendance numbers, which leave a lot to be desired.

JoshPR
To be fair, you HAVE to consider attendance numbers, which leave a lot to be desired. Not Consistent enough. When last year the sox were in the Hunt it was 30000 in the park when they went down hill the people stoped going to games. Put out a good product a porduct that gets to the playoffs and people will come. I'm sick of settlling for second every year. BULLs*** The goal sould be playoffs not over .500 ball
SuperSteve
Back to the topic. It is hard for someone like me to attend more than a game or two. I only made it to one game last season. I went to one Cubs game too. I don't have the money to go to all the games and pay for everything else when I have other stuff which has to be paid for and I have to work to get the money for that stuff. BULLs*** The goal sould be playoffs not over .500 ball It takes a lot to get our attendance above 30,000. It seems like we have to be within 2 games of first, playing a rival or popular team, and it has to be late in the season. If we pulled that many everyday until we were basically eliminated, we'd have a LOT higher totals.
