quickman
We mujst really think that Konerko is great. Get these three guys for the great Paul konerko. GIve me roberts and Ryan and you would still have to give more than Paul Konerko. If konerko is so great why in the world would we trade him? Simple he doesn't fit the new 2005 sox mold of Pitching Speed ( ) and Defense ( ) Also Baltimore is in need of a 1b, they then can make the run at Beltran and plop him in CF move Harristion back to 2b with the trade of Roberts. Ryan well we need bullpen help and he might be a stretch to get. There are others that need to be included in the deal but those are the main players. Kendall/Polanco would be one of the best leadoff tandems in the AL... Your suggestions thus far have consisted of signing guys because they have a World Series Ring, and rounding way, way up (Hitting .277 is NOT equal to hitting .300 - so don't try to pass a career .256 hitter as a .300 hitter :rolly ). And Polanco, in our situation, is much much much >>> than Cabrera.

Kendall, OC yeah one of the best leadoff in the AL.. but I am done trying to make you see the wrong in PP So you would rather have Joe B over Jay Gibbons? Who has only played 2.5 season in the bigs 2003 a full season he hit .277/23/100...Let see I would like that .277 is closer to .300 than say Joe B avg of what .174, Yes your right lets keep Joe in RF :headshake

chisox2334
Just to inform you about randy johnson. Heres the article: General Manager Joe Garagiola Jr. said he planned to speak with the representatives for pitcher Randy Johnson today, and although trade parameters may come up, neither side would reveal what is to be discussed. Garagiola refused comment, as did Barry Meister, one of Johnson's agents. Johnson's second agent, Alan Nero, who last week suggested Johnson wanted out of Arizona, could not be reached for comment. Johnson, 41, has one year remaining on his contract, which will pay him $16 million. A few teams have interest in the left-hander. The New York Yankees, St. Louis Cardinals, Anaheim Angels and Chicago White Sox are among the clubs ready to deal. advertisement Today's teleconference among Garagiola, Meister and Nero could get the process started. Garagiola, for instance, could ask Johnson's agents to list the teams for which Johnson would agree to waive his no-trade clause. The Diamondbacks could then begin to ascertain what they could get in return for the five-time Cy Young Award winner. Arizona, however, may not be in a hurry to move Johnson and would like to talk to him about a possible contract extension that would allow him to finish his career with the Diamondbacks. Johnson has been vacationing in Japan, but will be in the Valley on Friday to host a charity golf tournament. On Saturday, he will be appearing at an autograph event in Chicago Randy will be here on sat. in chicago people
Chisoxfn
Gibbons, if healthy, could put up monster power numbers in Chicago while hitting for a decent average. In the 6th spot of the lineup it wouldn't be a bad option, plus he would provide something the Sox haven't had in a long time (left handed pop). IF he gets non-tendered I'd add him on the list of guys. I rate him ahead of Burnitz and below Dye, although Gibbons gets an extra notch soley because he's left handed. However, an in shape, healthy, motivated Carl Everett would be better.

Disagree because Everett can't play RF and you can't depend on that. I think a healthy Jay Gibbons hits .270 with 30 HR's at the cell. His OBP would likely be a little low, but hopefully he can improve upon that, plus he plays a very solid RF and can even play 1st if you need him to. He is a very good defensive first baseman from the times I saw him play it with the Orioles. Plus I think Gibbons could be had for 2 or 2.5 million while Everett costs the Sox 4 million and is more of a health risk. Gibbons is also younger and getting ready to enter the prime of his career. I would be quite excited if the Sox signed Gibbons. It may not stream up a lot of attention amongst most, but he has the ability to turn into a pretty darn good player.
