Over here? Well, lemme guess. "Over there" is mlb.com. And the dolt who gave you this idea is winsox05. Am I right? Even if Im not, when I posted at mlb.com, there was some juvenile who was so damn adamant about PK for Gibbons that he quickly became the joke of the board. In fact, he had a lot of ridiculous ideas. Frank for Hairston. Lee for Meche. He was an idiot. He was worse than many of the Cubs and Twins trolls, if he wasnt one himself. No matter what the topic was, every day he would find a way to post his ideas, forever moronic. In every single thread! That guy pissed everyone off.

No it was ChicagoSports, but most people said the same thing... That Gibbons numbers in 04 are awful and how we be getting robbed blah blah blah...

I don't think we'd be paying another outfielder around $4 mill when we already have more pressing needs at SP, RP and SS/2B. And you can EASILY get more for Paulie than just a 27 year outfielder who had his worst season, and a platoon second baseman who has a history of injury problems. And Baltimore would more likely deal Jorge Julio instead of BJ Ryan.

That been my point we can get 2/3 or even 3/3 needs filled with the salrary of Pauly, if not less and that would leave more money to get a SP. Gibbons had a bad 2004, look for a killer season ESP. if he calls the Cell home.

I'm so sick of all of these people looking at Rauch as if he was made of solid gold or is going to be the next Cy Young. The fact is the guy was a total headcase and he had absolutely no future in this organization at all. At one point KW even so much as said he'd take any offer for him. GM's aren't stupid people as much as we like to think they are. I'm suprised we were even able to get Carl for him.

Yes cause there were 28 other teams all making a run at a headjob OF who rood the DL for most of 2004.. Washington is still laughing at the trade, and wondering how stupid KW actually is.

We were lucky to get anything for Rauch. This trade is the least of KWs worries. He is lucky he got more than a bag of balls for the jamoke.

WE got something for Rauch?? I thought all we got is a guy to ride the DL while we pay for him to do that..

Give me Rauch back he serves more of a purpose.

They could have gotten so much more for Rauch..Carla is a payroll dump thats all, how sad is it when the Expos don't want you anymore?????

Rauch lost all trade value when KW publically said he would give him away for pratically nothing. At least with Everett there is a chance he can get himself back into shape. If he can become even half of the player he once was then I think we got the better of the deal.

Besides your talking about a guy who was almost 7 feet tall and couldn't barely break 92 MPH with his fastball. It's not like we gave away the next Randy Johnson here.

You missing the point, MOntreal Gave us Carla Everett. The team that needs players gave us this guy for a pitcher who might be a good #3/4 guy given time. The Sox should have left him in there to see how he did over 3-4 starts.. That was the main issue with the #5 hole in the roation last year.

So far you have told me that

Harris and Uribe are great Def players

That Gibbons and Roberts sucks ( even though the numbers are differnt)

and that you are Glad to have the lazy ass Carla play right...

am I missing something?

First off I said Gibbons sucks. I would like you to show me one time when I said anything at all about Roberts.

Also I'm not glad to see Carl here. Hence why I think it's so important to get a decent outfielder (i.e. NOT GIBBONS :puke ) However to say we could get anything better for Rauch is a stretch.

And yes I think that Uribe and Harris are a great double play combo.

All I have to say is

Thank god your not the GM.. otherwise I be a tiger Fan...

I love how a guy who hits .277/23/100 in 03 and was on the DL for almost 2 months in 04 sucks...

and also how the combo of Uribe and Harris, failed in 04 but going to excel in 05?

Carla has not put up decent numbers since before he was traded to the SOx in 03 after that his numbers are worse than Wille Harris.

Likewise for you...

...and last time I checked we don't give contracts for past performance.

Even your boy Jay Gibbons had to start somewhere.

Look we all have players we stick with and root for. I've been signing the praises of Aaron Rowand for the last 2 1/2 years on various boards. I never once got off the bandwagon and I kept with him and eventually he proved me right. During that same time I've shown the same faith in Willie Harris and more recently Felix Diaz. Time will tell before I see if i'm right about them. I respect that you like Jay Gibbons and I wish him only the best for his career. I'm sure he's a very nice guy. I just don't see him as a fit for this team.

Also how exactly did Willie and Uribe fail...

Uribe hit over .280 and Willie had a .262 average and .343 OBP both with sporatic playing time (had to make way for Jose Valentin)

I just don't get what is so horrible about Willie when we still have Everett in the starting lineup of this team!

I really like uribe, but those two months back to back of really s***ty hitting killed us. If he would have hovered around .280 it would have been outstanding considering i thought he would only hit around .250. Next year though i feel he will become more consistent than this past year.

Uribe is a big part of our team next year for sure.

In fact I'd venture to bet that we will end up counting on him to pick up alot more of the offensive slack with Maggs gone.

I disagree.

Uribe will always be a streaky player. I think the Hawkaroo said it best: with a swing that ugly, we will have to be lucky with whatever we get from him. There are times when he is going to be bananas, and there will be times when he is going to be in bad slumps.

Thus is the nature of a free/ugly swinger.

Are you willing to put your credibility on the line on that one? ;)

Cough-Cough...Levine...Cough-Cough

No, just wishful thinking on my part. But you are most likely correct. He looks like the best hitter in the game for 3 weeks and then for 2 weeks you are wonderign why he is even playing baseball.

1st.. WE don't give contracts based on past performances?? Do GM have crystal balls letting them know how a players stats will be in the 4th year of the 6 year deal if so the Cubs GM must have a broken ball. As well as The Sox, otherwise they would have traded Maggs b4 the injury

All of players contracts are based on prior stats and acomplishments.

You can't see how a lefthanded bat with Pop would fit into the Sox Righthanded lineup?

I been on the A-row bandwagon since 2001, When I went to my only Sox fest in '02 I got one Autograph.. His thats it. I also belive Diaz will be great, personally I want him as our number 5 for the first half of the season, he has nothing left to prove in the minors.

Harris, I never was sold on him, he reminds me of a Mike Carruso type player, and that is what he is turing into.
