You can't see how a lefthanded bat with Pop would fit into the Sox Righthanded lineup?

Gibbons is below a decent player he does not hit righties very well while being a lefty and that is a problem because about 80% of the pitchers you see are right handed. Hits for a low average and does not seem to like walking very much. His career .315 obp, .451 slugging, and his .766 ops is disgusting for a right fielder.

hmm only played one full season in the big in '03 was hurt in '04..

how is one suppose to improve while hurt?

ALso in 03 who else on the OriOLES, could hit for anything? Hense the reason for lopez, tejada, and trying to lure Vladdy.

Look at his stas for 03, in 04 he was injuried.. hurting his hip flexor.

These are his combined numbers in his career. Not very good. Also 136 games in 2002 is considered a full season.

SO a left handed bat that would drive in 80-90 runs plus hit you 25-30HR noone wants???

I still confused on why that is? also its not a straight up 1 for 1 deal you have to figure Roberts/ Harriston and the bullpen help.

Have you looked at the most important offensive numbers of his? They suck for most anyone especially a right fielder.

Yes RBI's are avg around 88 a year..and would improve with a soild core of players around him, like being oin the Sox hitting in the 6th hole.

PLease tell me in 02/3 who was on Baltimore that helped out??

No, look at obp, slugging, and ops. Anyone can tell you they are some of the most important offensive stats. Rbi's and homeruns are secondary.

obp.. to me only matters for guys that bat 1/2

Slugging yes an important stat

OPS...I like the stat but again can be misleading

RBI are the most imporant stat to me, if you bat a guy 3-6

HR, are a very overrrated stat IMO, with all the smaller ball parks

Slugging and ops basically coincide. Why is it that obp guys only matter for 1/2 guys for you? That makes no sense.

RBI's don't mean jack... ARow played like a 100 RBI guy last season, but wasn't in an RBI slot for a majority of the games. Does that mean he wasn't good? wasn't as valuable?

Hey! I know a LH hitting shortstop that puts up numbers like that. Would you be interested in acquiring him?

So as long as a player with a .220 average and .260 obp drives in 103 runs he is a good  player? I think not.

Your right.. But Gibbons never hit Jose like in his Career all of those 2 seasons..

Gibbons has a ton of upside...

To bad most of you are to blind to see the truth.

Yes cause there were 28 other teams all making a run at a headjob OF who rood the DL for most of 2004.. Washington is still laughing at the trade, and wondering how stupid KW actually is.

They are?

We paid Carl Everett the minimum for 2004, and they got damaged goods in Jon Rauch, and Gary "The Cat" Majewski. (I call him the cat because he kept ending up in the Sox organization.)
