EvilJester99
I think the Sox are going to have to really start worrying about those Tigers...esp if they get another starter and bat.
valponick
Apparently he was supposed to visit with 6 teams but got an offer he couldn't turn down from the Tigers.
WilliamTell
Hmmm the Tigers making a comeback. Yeah the Tiger are one good pitcher away from contention is this division.

EvilJester99
I would think the Tigers figure Urbina may not be ready until this is settled with his mom... unless it has recently??

AddisonStSox
I wonder if this puts Urbina on the block? Actually...I think this signing tells us something. Urbina is probably going to miss an extended period of time due to the situation at home. Personally, I don't believe the tigers would have made such a big-time signing if they felt he would be in Detroit from the beginning to the end of the season. Hell, even if Urbina misses half of the season, when he comes back, that could make the best set-up/closer combo in the AL, let alone the bigs. Chisoxfn
Uribina is on the trade market now, book it. He didn't have all that grand of a season last year, so I think a team could pick him up at a good price. Detroit could alwyas keep him though and have a good 1-2 punch in the pen. SoxAce
I'd take Urby.
Punch and Judy Garland
Urbina was dominant against us, save for that Crede walk-off. Defintely a curious signing by Detroit, but I also think it was a good deal for both sides. I think Detroit would need 2 starters, unless Bondo is ready to make that leap into a frontline starter. CWSGuy406
Two years, twelve million? Maybe I'm the only one, but I think that's a damn good deal for the Tigers. This division is slowly on the rise, I'm tellin' ya. The crap we've fielded the past couple of years might have done well then, but no longer is Detroit gonna be a walk-in-the-park (LOL, even in their 100+ loss season, they weren't easy for us - so what the hell am I talking about? :banghead ). I know, I wish the Sox would have made an offer like that...

I know, I wish the Sox would have made an offer like that... I think you're just getting a little stir-crazy. $12 million buys you three years of Vizquel. Add a little more and you get four years of Guzman. There are better ways a team could spend that much money. Detroit got fleeced.

Add a little more and you get four years of Guzman. There are better ways a team could spend that much money. Detroit got fleeced. I don't want three years of Vizquel. Two years, twelve million (arguably) the best reliever on the market. Two year deals are nice. If it doesn't work out the first year, you can trade him at the deadline the following year. Is there a third year option for the player/team?
