All I am saying is make the splash. that is what will get people to the games. It will get media intot he sox corner, it will get other players wanting to come here. It will create a buzz in this town.

That is exactly what will draw in the casual fan, and even the angry disenfranchised long time Sox fan. There are lots of the latter.

Sox don't seem to understand how to create a positive buzz. Again, lots of "we're smarter than you" attitude down there. Rob Gallas had it. Reinsdorf is a good person deep down, but he has it. KW has it. Guillen has it.

There's a difference between self confidence and portraying that to fans vs. the "I'm smarter than you" persona.

This Boras thing is a perfect example, Boras is a tool but they handled it wrong. Talking about Guzman having "pathetic" road stats, that is just stupid. These guys think they're too smart to understand public relations.

The fans need to feel the management team is on our side. Tough to quantify but the Cubs have that. Cub fans feel Hendry is right in the emotional trenches with them. Sox fans on the other hand are very suspicious of the Sox management.

This is not all the fault of Sox management, we have some goofball fans whose sole purpose in life is to b****. Sox management and employees have a bit of a bunker mentality.

Gregor thinks both Konerko and Carlos Lee will be back. Looks like two pitchersss coming my way.

Gregor thinks Garland might be trade bait. He also think there might be interest in Crede but not much. He says they are interested in Jason Kendall.

There is no reason that the do not go after nomar. He would be perfect here, i know people are scared with his injury riddled past but sometime you have to take chances.

100% right. They should go after him.

But I doubt they do.

Another guy on here b****ing and not asking questions.

And telling the world how long he's been a Sox fan.

Who gives a s***.

These callers, once again, giving the Sox fans a bad name.

Now this caller is better and knows what he's talking about ... South Side Ron ...

Said Guillen doesn't have confidence in Harris, ding ding ding we have a winner.

Gregor says Sox are realizing Borchard doesn't have it. No duh.

Gregor talking about Harris and Ozzie was laughing at Willie's prognostications about how Willie said he'll hit .300, steal bases, etc. Ozzie has no confidence in Harris, like we've said all along.

Gregor thinks they might want to upgrade in RF, but probably Everett.

Gregor wonders why Reinsdorf even talks to the media because he says some goofy things.

My thoughts on the subjects being discussed.

Corey Koskie - Toronto have offered him a 3 year $15 million deal, and the Twinkies only a 2 year $7 million deal. Considering he's from Canada, it's a pretty safe bet he's headed to the Blue Jays. Eric Hinske will probably then be moved to the Reds.

Nomar Garciaparra - If he wants a 1 year deal laden with incentives, he's certainly the type of guy we should be going after. But we shouldn't just put in incentives on personal numbers and stats, team success should also be included, so if we make the playoffs etc. he gets an extra mill or 2. Would be an excellent #3 hitter for us behind Rowand and in front of Frank, Paulie or Carlos.

Joe Crede - KW said he wasn't going to move him before the off-season started and I can't see him getting moved now unfortunately. They want Uribe at 2B or SS, not 3B, so unless a logical starting replacement can be found, can't see em moving Crede unfortunately. If there was some way to move him for Aubrey Huff however, KW's gotta look into that. Huff in 2005 at the Cell, would have a Paulie like comeback season.

ahh MR. Appeasement. He spoke the truth, said Sox are not goign anywhere. Why pick up Randy Johnson. Joshnson needs to go to a team that is a player away. I completely agree. We are nothign but a 500 team.

Are you saying that crede has more potential than koskie? Because i doubt he will ever be as good or better than him. If he got to koskie's leevl i would be more than thrilled.

I think Crede has shown his potential and Walker thinks he can produce. By the way when I say cheaper all I mean is that he is not commanding millions of dollars yet. Defensively Crede is very good. Koskie can do well hitting balls off fake grass in the garbage dome, which I suspect may actually be concrete but I can't prove it, but playing 81 games in Comiskey might not be as good.

If you get on the radio, ask a question that can be answered by a member of the media who knows more than we do.

Don't waste our time with your b****ing so you can high five your buddies over 6-7 Miller Lites.

If we want to hear whining we can go to some of the websites.

Ask an intelligent question or two like South Side Ron did.

Is "Bill" Bill from the NW Side? The same fan who would make a conscious effort to call Dave Wills following every loss? Love that guy. If I'm not mistaken he felt the season was over sometime in June - and made sure to gloat once Sox were eliminated. I recall several post game shows where Willsy would call him out for avoiding the show following wins. He did, however, embody the 'b****y' fan which JimH is describing.

Well i can tell you that koskie has hit better on the road two out of the last three years. Also are you referring to the 2002 season for crede when he has shown all his potential? Because outside of that 1/3 of a season all i have seen is one long swing after another.

Koskie's 2004 splits.

Home - .235, 16 HR's, 32 RBI's, .322 OBP

Away - .268, 9 HR's, 39 RBI's, .362 OBP

I totally agree Qwerty. I think the Sox will drop him like a rock if he doesn't produce this year. What is walker suppose to say? he sucks?

Same old same old.

We get it, a thousand times over. It's been going on for as long as that westsidebill has been a fan, I'm sure he's glad to volunteer it to everyone he meets, 52 years. He doesn't give a s*** you have 4 full season tickets and pay big $$, he doesn't care about how long I've been a fan and how many games I go to.

They have a media guy on there who covers the Sox. He has insights into the team that we don't. He has access we don't.

Are those callers NOT BRIGHT ENOUGH to figure out that maybe, just maybe, they should ask an intelligent question about player acquisitions, rumors, etc.?

I guess not.

They are happier to wallow in the b****ing and look in the mirror and say, "I guess I told them" and then wake up and start b****ing again tomorrow.

Sorry, waaaaaayyy tired of that. Pointless.
