Texsox
I may have embarrassed #1 son at school today. I drive him to school every morning, and we were waiting in line at the drop area. Three guys in a F150 pulled up next to us with their stereo blasting a local radio station She was a fast machine She kept her motor clean She was the best damn woman I had ever seen She had the sightless eyes Telling me no lies Knockin' me out with those American thighs Taking more than her share Had me fighting for air She told me to come but I was already there 'Cause the walls start shaking The earth was quaking My mind was aching And we were makin it and you - CHORUS: Shook me all night long Yeah you shook me all night long Working double time On the seduction line She was one of a kind, she's just mine all mine She wanted no applause Just another course Made a meal out of me and came back for more Had to cool me down To take another round Now I'm back in the ring to take another swing 'Cause the walls were shaking The earth was quaking My mind was aching And we were makin it and you - CHORUS And knocked me out and then you Shook me all night long You had me shakin' and you Shook me all night long Yeah you shook me Well you took me You really took me and you Shook me all night long Ooooh you Shook me all night long Yeah, yeah, you Shook me all night long Your really took me and you Yeah you shook me, yeah you shook me All night long Now I'm an old school rocker from the 70s and happened to be in the front row at the Aragon Brawl Room during AC/DC's Back in Black tour, and cannot let a great song go. Rockford Fosgate was a customer of mine and I happen to have a decent, at least better than the PoC in the F150, system. So I cranked my stereo to join in the metal moment. I think I received a detention from the teacher who was monitoring the line My son is pissed that his dad got yelled at by a teacher, like that never happened to *me* before I told him no one would care, or in fact, they may think you have a cool dad. So what is it? Cool? or Not Cool? Edited November 19, 2004 by Texsox
mreye
Not cool, Tex. Don't you know you're supposed to be listening to Glenn Miller?
Texsox
Not cool, Tex. Don't you know you're supposed to be listening to Glenn Miller? LOL, When I was in HS, at least I had the decency to annoy my parents with my music. Led Zepplin could always drown out Conway Twitty. Now I'm borrowing my kids stuff. Good economics for him. "Hey dad, would you split the cost for the White Album CD?" gets me reaching in my pocket where "hey dad, the new Aerosmith 8-track is out, can I borrow a few bucks?" never worked for me At least I didn't air drum and head bang
mreye
At least I didn't air drum and head bang Now, THAT would have been cool! It could have been like a musical: the guys in the truck start head banging and then the teacher and then the rest of the students. Kind of like "Rudy...Rudy...Rudy..." Brian
Just wear a paper bag over the head, don't say a word, and drop the kid off. After you pull away, it is safe to remove the bag.
Spiff
I think it's fine. I know everything in high school is judged harshly but blasting AC/DC is far from the worst thing you can do. He'll get over it.
YASNY
A parent should NEVER draw attention to himself or try to "be cool" in front of a teenager's peers. Just saying.

Texsox
Rockford Fosgate? lol, yes. I use to supply them the aluminum heat sink / cases for their amps. Then even Mexico became too expensive and they started having the heat sinks made in Tiawan. I also supplied Stillwater Designs for their Kicker series. Is his name spelled Rockfort as you spelled it or Rockford as it is on the products?
Texsox
Is his name spelled Rockfort as you spelled it or Rockford as it is on the products? My mistake. Typing too fast and not proofreading. Can we get a spell check in *I'll* 12?

Texsox
Correction: ARE cool! Especially the people who took the time to match the colors to the labels. The red and white Budweiser hat or the Blue and White Old Style. Too bad the can holder hard hat destroyed that bit of Americana But of course, the internet keeps tradition alive directions to make your own
