Ace's got a team down there this year?  We need to pack the tourney with IN teams again :)

I'm not so sure what they have. Apparently they have a pretty good freshman (can't remember his name), and they have some experience coming back, but not a lot of it was very successful.

I am looking at baby steps here. If they can win 12-15 games and finish no worse than 6th in the conference, then I think progress has been made. I guess we'll see when they start playing good teams.

Iowa looked great from the moment I turned it on. Only flaw with them is their free throw shooting otherwise it would of been a 15 point win.

Hansen definately looks thin Chris, but darn talk about playing good defense and he did an oustanding job forcing the opponents to alter their shots.

Heck, I'm not going to count anything but Iowa looks like they may have something. Still, I've thought that too many times with Alford only to get dissapointed so I'll wait and see.

Hansen is definitely long and has good shot-blocking instincts. He could be a huge force in the paint with an added offseason in the weight room. Iowa looks like a tourney team to me. They have everything it takes, I'm not sure how much depth you guys have as this was the first time I've watched Iowa in 2 years, but you have very nice quards and nice post players. Now its time to watch Davidson upset "under-rated" Duke ;-).

I love the fact that they keep praising K for turning down LA, while ignoring the fact that Roy Williams was offered the job first by Mitch Kupchek.

My dad was raving to me last night about the Iowa game he watched this weekend. He said they looked great. And get this... They supposedly were lights out from the FT line. Alford may actually have something this season. I'm not holding my breath though.

I'll tell you one thing, Iowa has a lot more athletism then I've seen in a long long time out of one of their squads. They also seem to have some low post players in Brunner/Hansen, a guy that can create his shot in Pierce and then a very good shooting point guard in Horner.

Also liked the way some of their younger players played too. I was impressed, especially with their defense. They absolutely shut down Louisville's offense.

That Alex Thompson, who is a freshman is an insane looking athlete who is already getting minutes early in the year and should continue to develop.

They only have one senior too, which is a nice thing to look at in terms of long term. If they can have a good season now, then Alford can build on it and maybe go for the big ten next year.

Oh wait, their I go getting my hopes up so I better just shut up now before I get dissapointed by Alford.
